James Hunter Six "Baby (Hold On)"(Daptone Records, 2016) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 05, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
I'll be doing my thing tomorrow on the same bill with with Grammy-nominated English R&B combo James Hunter Six at Hudson River Park with headliner Stax Records god WIlliam Bell! You're currently listening to the Six's new 45 and title track off of their Daptone Records debut LP (the band's 4th so far)! This is so well executed and written and arranged and far above and most of the contemporary rhythm and blues revival pack! Dig that crazy rhythm and unconventional instrumental harmonies all tied together in a tight elegant package! And hats off to Gabe Roth for some stellar spot-on early 1960s production feel that seems so impossible for most to nail these days! Weird and wonderful and big surprise! Check it out!

Each track here is recorded directly from my original 45s (no bootlegs, reproductions, etc) to give you an idea of what the real deal authentic vinyl sounds like. COME BACK EVERY DAY FOR A NEW FIX! Because the records pass so quickly at my danchttps://www.youtube.com/JonathanToubin

e parties, this channel is an attempt to stop and focus on one record at a time in hopes to personally learn more about each one and at the same time turn you on to the artists, tracks, labels, etc. I'm just hipping myself to a lot of these records for the first time as well - so you can view this as our journey to learning more about cool old records together! But mostly I hope this music moves you as much as it moves me.

Get your enjoys,
