My first memory of the excitement of music was when i was six years old, watching "Happy Days", the Fonz, Ritchie Cunningham, etc,and obsessed with the intro. "Bill Haley and the Comets" singing "Rock around the Clock". That image of the jukebox putting on the 45,1-2-3 o'clock, 4 o'clock rock I loved it!!!!!!
Anyways, from there, i was hooked. I grew up in Italy, so i was exposed to great Italian singer/songwriters.as well as operas. My grandparents would be babysitting me, and though i remember finding them scary.the tragedies and passions were overwhelming, something i didn't understand yetbut i grew to appreciate them. Came to America when i was nine. Didn't know a word of english, but music made sense. "American music".Didn't know what they where saying, but didn't need to, because it was about the feel. It helped me not be prejudice(?) with music in general.
Once a week, my Italo-American grandparents would come over and cook Italian meals( minestrone, panzotti, lasagne, artichoke frittataohthe list goes on and on), and after dinner, it was tradition to sing three or four italian folk songs with the rest of my five brothers and sisters.i miss those times with my nonni. My grandfather would harmonize,he was such an inspiration. He would frequently joke around( to the criticism of my nonna), which always made me laugh,realizing that music is first and foremost supposed to be fun and entertaining.capturing a moment., not offensiveunless, of course, your singing a war chant.yodolayyyiiiiiiiiiiiihoouuu I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6!
