ABOUT DANIEL CHRISTIAN



Out of Nebraska comes a singer-songwriter who blends pop/rock sensibilities with country/folk roots. He weaves hooky, stick-in-your-head melodies backed by big harmonies with thought-provoking lyrical content. The result is a style of art and entertainment that audiences have dubbed organic "thought rock," which, according to fans, "sounds like cinnamon rolls taste!"



Nashville recording artist Daniel Christian has won two National Country Music Festival awards, and has been nominated for five Omaha Entertainment Awards, including: Best Alternative/Indie Artist, Best Singer-Songwriter, Best Christian/Gospel, and Artist of the Year.
His debut album, I Am Merely Sand, was released in 2007. The collection of critically acclaimed songs features such notable talent as Grammy®-winning bassist Charlie Chadwick (Pam Tillis, Steve Earle, Peter Frampton) and guitarist Pat Bergeson (Chet Atkins, Alison Krauss, Lyle Lovett).



In 2009, Daniel joined the roster of USO performers making themselves available to entertain soldiers overseas. The same year, he was selected to perform at "Born to Play," The GAP's 40th Anniversary party, an event spanning North America, which set the record for largest simultaneous acoustic music concert of all time.



Daniel Christian is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, and the Nebraska Arts Council. He is also a founding member of Nebraska's chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), and in 2008, he composed the school song for Johnson County Central High School in his hometown of Tecumseh, NE. The Lincoln Journal-Star says that the song creates "a unity between the school and its community of patrons. The lyrics pay homage to what had been but also focuses on what is now — and what will be. It focuses on unity, loyalty and pride in the new school."
Daniel continues to share his music across the nation. His anticipated new album, Hold Your Breath, was released in the spring of 2010.
