People throw the phrase "I learned from the best" around a lot, but what some don't realize is that in the music business it takes not only hard work but talent to make it. San Diego singer, songwriter and producer Marlon Dane has been garnering a lot of attention with his hard work and talent.
Influenced by artists such as Usher, Backstreet Boys, Frankie J, and Justin Timberlake, it's no wonder that his single "Only One Man Can" has been getting airplay on local stations such as Jammin' Z90 and Channel 93.3. Marlon Dane has mentioned before that "[he wants] to make music that will last a lifetime." It seems as if he is on the right track because Sherrie Knight of Magic 92.5, a station well known for playing classic oldies, has said she hears his music being played on radio even 20 years from now. Not only has he created a buzz at local radio stations, he was also asked to sing the introduction song for the 7-time world boxing champion, Manny Pacquiao when Pacquiao visited San Diego. In addition to performing all over California, Marlon Dane has also held shows in Nevada and Missouri.
Marlon Dane's debut full length album is titled "Only One Man Can" and has 14 tracks that are filled with emotion, catchy tunes and powerful ballads. "I just want to make good music for people around me. If someone is going through a low point in life, I want them to able to pop in a Marlon Dane CD and see my music as a refuge," says Marlon Dane. Thanks to his musical and social ingenuity he is able to capture the relevant issues that people everywhere face at some point in their lives in a way that they can all easily relate to. It doesn't hurt that his continuous hard work to refine his already smooth vocals makes the experience an auditory pleasure to relate to, whether it is the highs or the lows of life. In a nutshell, Marlon Dane's music can be described in one word: timeless.
