Since forming in the summer of 2007 whilst at Lincoln Uni, the 6 piece act from lincoln have recorded/released one live album "live sessions", and two studio albums "Last line of a sonnet" and 2010's collection "Colour and light". More recently the guys have relocated to London and have been hard at work recording new material at Berry Street Studios in preperation for a hard years touring throughout 2011. October 2010 saw the release of "Outlaws" along with the bands latest music video, demonstrating the bands maturity and drive.
Dancing Lotus are working with close friend and UK talent Elliott Morris on a single release for 2011. Lotus and Morris have been touring together for a couple of years so a collaboration EP was inevitable. Recording starts early january for the Single "Spend Some Time".
Amongst regular appearances on BBC introducing Lincolnshire, self producing music videos and collaborating with other artists, dancing lotus are still pushing harder than ever with the aim of securing a national music release and an appearance at a major music festival by 2012.
--------- "Dancing Lotus will have you dancing, until your feet hurt" James Wickham - BBC Introducing
--------- "Tracks such as the exotic "Sunset Café", the ska-influenced "Outlaws", and slower tracks "6am" and" Sparks" demonstrate Lotus' musical nouse brilliantly, and illustrate just how disparate their influences are.
--------- "As a result, their music is hard to define, taking elements from blues, hip-hop, folk, and rock, but still sounding individual. A potent combination indeed, and with a set entirely made up of original material, the crowd were left wanting more. The new material would not sound out of place on Radio 1. " The Linc Magazine.
--------- "A cross between gnarles barkley and maroon 5" Jamie Oliver
--------- "The monster cheer that erupted when Dancing Lotus finally poured on stage could probably be heard on the other side of the University" LincolnBands.co.uk
