The establishment of Christchurch's Damm Money Click is the classic example of urban hiphop in NZ. A group of young Maori descent who had a dream and would stop at nothing to achieve this goal. IKON and YOUNG SHUCK grew up on the streets of Christchurch first meeting as children at IKONS nanas Kohanga Reo ( Maori Pre-School) and knocking around on the Christchurch Streets. Rap music was around the two from a young age, handed down from the older brothers and in the hood who taught IKON and SHUCK the way. Bone Thugs n Harmony, Easy E, M C Eight and N.W.A were hugh influences at the time. They started to learn how to rap in the kitchen at home and during lunch time at primary they started to write their own lyrics and songs despite the ban of rap music at the school. In 2005 they started Damm Money Ent, performing at local festivals, parties, bars and night clubs for the local hiphop community. In 2006 they did their first opening for an International act, Bone Thugs n Harmony at the Civic in Christchurch and by 2007 Damm Money were bringing over international DJ's such as Mobb Deep's DJ On Point, then hosting a number of shows and International tours alongside 50 Cents DJ Whoo Kidd from G-Unit

Dj Whoo Kid Aussi tour really starts in June with up to 10 dates killing every club along this Kangaroo invested coast. He is proving how real he is to his homeys overseas by supporting Young Shuck -a hot artist out of New Zealand ! He asked Whoo to come and rock these 2 dates with him as he kills the clubs with his hits! Whoo kid will rock the club after the performance. 2 spot dates are Christ Church - Club 205 April 9th and Ceasars Nightclub - Brisbane April 11th.
