Conceived in one of the most notorious slums and housing projects in the City Of Pittsburgh emerges Ikey Bubz." Hailing from Elmore Square better known to it's inhabitants as Gute Block has not hindered this young artist's ability to make quality music; instead it has become his inspiration. The streets became Ikey Bubz home at an early age because of family problems .However, unlike most black males in today's society Bubz wanted another way out of the environment So he had grown accustomed to Music quickly and found ways and means to survive the struggles of everyday grief and stressors for the aspiring artist.
He began rapping and spitting verses at the age of 11 and members of his peer group remember how nice Bubz was way back in Milliones Middle School. It wasn't until the age of 16 when Bubz began to take music seriously performing for talent shows and evolving his live performance. The response from the fans was overwhelming and further reassured Bubz that this was his calling in life. After losing his mother at the age of 17 Bubz really began to try and establish himself as one of the elite in Pittsburgh and develop his unique style and delivery. Ikey could be seen walking through the corridors of Schenley High School spitten a freshly written verse or freestyling to a beat that only he heard. Around this time he began to collaborate with local talent featuring on "Blood Cousins" with Gizzy and the "Free Flayme Mixtape." He has worked with some of Pittsburgh best talent including: Gizzy, Young Flayme, Diesel of HardHead Records, and Fast Eddie PRODUCTIONS. Currently, he is the CEO as well as a marquee UNSIGNED artist. Bubz has been dubbed by the streets as the "Kashi Man" for wearing the shoes that shine and even writing a hit record called "Kashi Kicks".
IKEY isn't concerned about any of the other local talent he's focused on all his up coming projects and how it will affect the City of Steel. Although, Bubz isn't really determined to blow up and get a major record deal espically for the fact he is trying to rise up out of Hatersburg, Pa. In a city where everyone is segregated by colors and sets Bubz is speaking to the whole city not just one hood. Bubz is guaranteed to be the life of the party and center of attention. He's the fly and flashy rapper that broke niggas seem to hate on because he's guaranteed to be shitten on any opposition.
