D aka Bootz

Mixtape DJ D aka Bootz's keen ear for music has earned him fans all across the United States and in Europe, who hunger for his masterful compilations of all musical things Latin, including his signature Reggaeton, as well as Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata mixes. Born and bred in Puerto Rico, it was there Bootz, was exposed to the hybrid of reggae and rap now known all over the world as Reggaeton. As a teenager in the early nineties, Bootz became a fanatical fanto the then underground genre listening avidly to it veteran artists as well as ferociously seeking its new emerging voices. A budding friendship with R&B and rap DJ's ANG & LRM and other fellow mixtape DJ's in 2002 would lead Bootz to transcend from an ardent fan into an influential distributor in the mixtapes industry - his Reggaeton Radio Series selling in platinum quantities . Observing that there were little to no mixtapes geared to his own Latino culture, Bootz dropped the first Reggaeton Radio mixtape - which would become a heavily sought out series in the New York City area in 2004. Three years later Bootz a hardworking "hustla" has dropped his 12th tape in the Reggaeton Radio series,  which is a small fraction of his library, given his yearly average of 30 mixtape releases. A testament to his "skillz" Bootz would garner critical acclaim by his second release. In 2004 Reggaeton Radio 2 was featured on MTV's Mixtape Monday's top five most notable mixtapes, alongside celebrity status mixtape DJ's Envy and Clue. A resident of Long Island in New York, Bootz plans to eventually emerge from behind his turntables and into a record label executive. He is specifically considering a career in A & R, in order to catapult Latin music onto the worldwide marketplace to receive the attention and acclaim he believes it deserves
