It was evident at an early age that Matthew was keen on drums. Before he could even play he would watch Fred Hammond (Pages of Life) and listen to Marvin McQuitty playing the drums who has now turned into Matthew's favourite drummer! Matthew says "I remember watching Marvin on videos and just trying to grasp what he was doing and the musicality of it all.He was my favourite drummer before i could play!" In 2002 a dream of Matthew's came true and that was to meet Marvin McQuitty, who since then has become a mentor in Matthews life.



Whenever Matthew went somewhere where drums were (mostly Churches) he would just sit and stare until it was time to go. He would always be tapping on his hands and knees, tables and anything else he could get his hands on.Matthew first got his chance to get behind a drum kit and "play" around the age of 11. The church finally got a drum kit! This was truly a prayer answered. Whenever he would get the chance (after services) Matthew would go and try and play, and after a few months he found a beat when he was banging around and the rest is history. Now at 22, Matthew is ready to embark on drumming as a career and now feels that this is the right time.



In Matthew’s years of playing he has shared the stage with many different artists such as Fred Hammond, Joann Rosario, Israel Houghton, Donnie McClurkin, Byron Cage, Marvin Sapp, Timothy Carpenter and played with many different artists such as Raymond & Co, Blessed Voices, Juanita Bynum, The Witness, Peter Daley, Dave Copeland, Roger Samuels and many more. Matthew is also very much in demand for different conferences/gospel events in the UK and Europe.



Experience:

I have been working within the Gospel music industry in the UK and Europe. Through doing so I have toured in Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and done gig’s throughout the UK. I’ve played in many different venues such as the Birmingham N.I.A, Aston Villa Lesiure Centre, Bethel Convention Centre, Sheffield Untd, Bolton FC and many more.
