Crossfire are a three piece rock band from Lanarkshire, Scotland. They began working together in the mid 80's as members of other bands before forming Crossfire in 1996. They describe their music as a mix of Rock / Blues with a hint of 'Swamp Music' thrown in.
Their stomping ground is the central belt of Scotland, however they frequently play all over the country at various venues and festivals. In 2002 the band plied their craft in Memphis and Nashville where the American audiences responded well.
The band remains unsigned but undaunted. They have recorded two albums, the first, 'Sneak on in' was a mix of Rock, Blues and Country. This album was very much instumental in the band's venture across the pond where new friends were made and invaluable experiences gained.
The recent second album 'Creep on out' is much more representative of Crossfire's live sound today and is more of a 'back to basics, raw, Rock'n'Roll' collection of songs. The band still retain their sense of humour with this album and this is heard on songs such as 'E.T. Got The Mojo', 'Batman', 'The Scary Bridge' and 'Jumpshop Boogie'. If the term 'Jumpshop' is lost on our American friends then we apologise and promise to send out a Scottish dictionary where it's meaning may be listed. But for the meantime, try and work it out. Both of the above mentioned albums are available to buy at gigs
A typical Crossfire set consists of original material as well as some choice cover versions. Towards the end of each show, the band are joined by one of the crew (Farky) who lays down some mean harp in a rockin' rendition of 'Roadhouse Blues'.
