Critty Upchurch

Christopher Upchurch is a 28 year old singer-songwriter/musician from Duluth, Georgia. He was born on March 17th, 1984 and started singing and loving music soon after. In the following years, he aquired the nickname "Critty" which has grown with him over the years and now is the only name he goes by. Critty Upchurch is a full-time professional musician working out of Atlanta, Georgia. Critty has a sound that is distinct and stands out, pulling most anyone who hears his voice in from start to finish. Over his career Critty has experienced and accomplished a great deal for someone his age. He was selected for Allstate chorus numerous times throughout middle school and high school for the state of Georgia. Playing his first gig in a live venue came at the age of 14. Along with his older brother Cameron Upchurch(lead vocals, rythm guitar), friends Chris Watkins(lead guitar) and Chad Bird(drums), Critty was a member of the band "South of Heaven" for 4 years throughtout 8th grade and highschool in which he played the bass guitar and sang background vocals. Being a local favorite, South of Heaven stayed busy playing 2-3 gigs a week for almost 4 years consistenly as well as numerous festivals and private parties. Many gigs and neswpaper articles later, South of Heaven ended its music journey due to college attendance and family additions while in the middle of recording on their 2nd but 1st full production album. With South of Heaven being the starting point of his career and the fire that drove his passion for playing music, Critty then set off to conquer his dreams and goals of being a successful musician and at the middle of his Junior Year in high school began playing in local pubs and restaurants thus beginning his solo career as Critty Upchurch. Since he has opened for and shared stages with many big name and local acts including, several opening shows with the Zac Brown band, as well as a cruise with the Zac Brown Band called "Sailing Southern Ground", Marc Broussard, David Ryan Harris, Mother's Finest, Little River Band, Mike Veal Band, Sister Hazel, A.J. Croce, Angie Aparro, Brantley GIlbert, LoCash Cowboys and many others. He also is the founder/owner of Studio21Record&Productions, which is a recording studio which he wishes to use more in the future for recording local talent as well as record and produce his own music and produce live shows and variety shows.
