COUNTER POINT, AKA SHAUL HADAR was born on November 10th, 1981, in Kibbutz Mizra, ISRAEL. Started playing the piano and learning musical theory at the age of 7. learned mostly classical music,especially music by CHOPIN and LISZT the great piano masters, and also learned jazz for three years. Except learning musical theory for 8 years,Shaul also learned to play the drums for three years.Shaul also plays the guitar and a little bit of bass guitar:)
Was part of the iconic funk band,GROOVE@RON at the age of 17 as the keyboard player. Around that time, Shaul started writing electronical music in IMPULSE TRACKER,around 1999. after wards he continued to investigate electronical music until sadly he had to go to the army, but during the army service, Shaul realized that his task in life was to write music and started working with cubase,and building his home studio.
After finishing the army service,in 2004, Shaul signed in AGITATO RECORDS, and started working on his COUNTER POINT project. Shaul writes mainly trance music, but also a lot of chill out and experimental music,and also writes music for computer and mobile games, movies and other media. Has tracks released with BLISS (THE RYTHMUS GENE), INTERGALACTIC (NAVIGATION), AQUATICA (EMOTION),GATAKA (CHILL BILL), SESTO SENTO (BAD ROBOT),OOTM (UNIVERSAL GROUND), and more. Shaul has just finished working on his debut CD "NATURAL FLOW", which you can now find on every major music distribution site on the net. Shaul is currently working on his next project and perhaps on another secret project ;)
After playing a lot of Chopin and classical music, Counter Point aims to blend the elements of melody with the full-on-trance music,and chill out vibes to create new music atmospheres.
