CORDELL MCCLARY
Born in New York City a self acclaimed Singer, accomplished Songwriter and a profound seasoned performer growing up Cordell McClary had a difficult time convincing his skeptical parents that a career in music was his dream. He began singing melodies discovered by his parents at the tender age of 3. During adolescence he hooked up with a world renowned Harlem International Production Team. It was then his parents recognized his tenacity and love for music. He was a former group member of Motown Records IMPACT, they made some noise with their hit single New Boys in Town that landed them a well deserved spot on the charts. After receiving a diploma from the High School for Music and the Performing Arts and continued a college education, Cordell undoubtedly returned to his first love, Music. Not only was he the opening act , he also booked many back-up vocal gigs for other artist such as Atlantic Records Duo group Changing Faces and the First Lady of R&B Hip Hop Soul ,Bad boy recording artist Faith Evans to name the few.
Wanting to pursue a solo career for himself, Cordell connected with Super Producer / DJ Quentin Harris and would later record his debut single Traveling which became a world wide underground classic, winning the 2004 Song of the Year Award at the Underground Archives Choice Awards. The song won praises from renowned DJs such as Timmy Regisford,
Danny Krivits and is featured on Little Louie Vegas, Dance Rituals. With the songs huge success, Cordell relentlessly took to the stage, after debuting at the Legendary Shelter in New York City, he has been traveling ever since. With the release of his second single Got 2 Love, Cordell began touring North America , Canada, Europe and Asia, performing alongside artist like Kenny Bobien, Julie Mcknight and Ultra Nate.
2006 is sure to be a great year for Singer, Songwriter, and Producer Cordell McClary. With the release of his two new singles "Happiness" produced by Quentin Harris and Ron Trent, and "Missing You" produced by Steal Vybe. Cordell is featured on several albums; Southport Weekender Vol.
3, The Underground Classics Vol.2 and is featured on Quentin Harris album " No Politics".
