It's November 2007, and the emcee born Jason Andre Roberts, more popularly known as Conquest, has just finished laying down another 'insane' 16 bar verse, this time around for Staten Island based rapper/spoken word poet Heesun's debut record due in 2008. Lately 'Quest has been pretty pleased with his recent lyrical output since coming off a self imposed break from recording and weekly shows, he's looser, more experimental, more adventurous with his vocal possibilities and most importantly.much more free! This new found sense of self bodes well for his new album fall 2008, his fourth full length album and a record that marks a significant reinvention of the music we've grown accustomed to from the lyricist also known affectionately by fans and friends as 'Dreadlock Slimmm' (based on his physical appearance). the forthcoming lp will be the first album Conquest has done that doesn't fit neatly under the 'Christian hip hop' banner, 'It's a straight up hip hop album' but it will come from a certain train of thought and be based around significant events that have left a mark on my past two years. Longtime fans need not worry about 'Quest's new album being a total and abrupt change, 'Oh, I still have a couple of joints on there that's definitely Christ centered without question, but it's in conjunction with the rest of the album's theme.which is way more personal, socially aware and much more universal than anything I've done on Torchbearers one through three.' He also adds that 'I'm not saying that what I'm about to make is gonna be a masterpiece or a classic or gonna reinvent the wheel or sell a million units the first week or anything crazy like that.that's for the public to decide, but I will promise you that it's gonna be great record that I believe will have a legitimate shot of moving the goth kid to the pastor of your local congregation alike!'

So far Conquest has sold thousands of his first three pro-Christ hip hop albums with everyone from Holy Culture Radio to Sphere of Hip Hop giving his last album in particular 'Confidence; Torchbearer vol. 3' rave reviews, and he saw his second single of that album 'E.G.O.' become the no. 1 single of 2006 on www.christian-hiphop.net. Now he's shooting for the rest of the world outside of the Holy hip-hop community with his fourth release, and drawing from everyone from newcomers like Joell Ortiz to established legends like The Who for inspiration. 'You'll probably hear the most street sounding record ever.and be blown away by the fact that I was inspired by metal groups like Isis or Stone Sour to get to that place' or see come up with the most club sounding joint after watching a Feist video.on this record, the gloves are officially off.I got quite a story to tell!'

Conquest's new album will feature production from Jahrock'n productions, A.Nihilist, Clever Gems, S.A.G.E. the progeny, Daniel Steele and Conquest himself.
