In a city largely populated by death metal, black metal, thrash metal and a thriving hardcore scene, Concept of time set out to break the mould and try something a little different.

In 2006 Concept of time came into proper existence and playing regularly, massing a good following. The original line up of - Tom Perrett (Guitar and vocals), Scott McLean (Keyboards), Alan Kennedy (Bass) and Chris Gallacher (Drums) built a good name in their native Scotland playing alongside Sabaton plus Others and also managed to gain positive feedback from all over the world with their debut demo 'Suffer in Silence'.

In 2008 the band parted ways with drummer Chris Gallacher and was soon replaced by Phillip Morrison. The band grew stronger, more determined to succeed and took their music further afeild. After making it through 2 heats and an online voting system, Concept of time where gifted a slot at Bloodstock Open air 2008 (playing on the same bill as bands like nightwish, etc).

Not long after the success of Bloodstock Open air, Alan Kennedy left Concept of time because of commitment issues. Concept of time were already in the thick of recording a new CD to be called 'A New State of Thought' and the bass slot was then filled by Andy Marshall, a close friend of Scott McLean.

After months of recording, playing local gigs, support slot's with Sabaton (for the second time) and Anterior the CD was finally released, which was well recieved by the public and reviewers worldwide. Concept of time where then Gifted the chance to play alongside Kamelot on their 'Rule the world' tour Glasgow show.

Just as everything was coming together in 2009 after supporting Blaze Baley, Concept of Time were delt another stunning blow. Scott McLean, one of the founding members decided to quit after some minor disagreements with other members of the band and also claiming to have lost interest in playing any form of Heavy metal. Scott leaving the band pathed the way for Andy's departure aswell, leaving only Tom and Phil left to rebuild.

Tom and Phil where quick to invite Alan Kennedy back to the fold, as they had worked together in the past with great results. Understanding what Concept of time was all about, he seemed the natural choice and he was also keen to team up again with the pair to start working on new songs.

After some trials for a second guitarist (an idea both championed by Tom and Phil for long time) they found Andrew Thomson, a friend and former band mate of Phil.

With Concept of Time back to 4 members they decided to set about trying to replace the vacant keyboard slot. Jaime Cross was brought in as a replacement for Scott McLean, however it didn’t take long for Tom and Phil to find fault in the idea of recruiting someone else to do the job they were doing for the previous months, with a greater understanding of Concept of Time's sound. After a few months Jaime left on good terms with the band to resume his own projects and with the best wishes of his former band mates.

Concept of time are currently working on their debut full length album, which will not be released until they have proper distribution to support them. At the moment the band are also self releasing a new Mini CD, which will be available by Winter of 2010.

It is safe to say that every line up has worked in the favour of the band's sound.

The current line up is a definate improvement on previous chapters of the band. The drive and determination is back, and it is the strongest the band have worked with.

The material speaks for itself.
