Who is Complexion???

These talented young men, coming from a life where hustling was the only avenue for prosperity and thugness was their sole means of seeking respect, used their street savvy and melodic soulful voices to form a style of music now called gangsta blues. With influences such as Stevie Wonder, The Manhattans, The Delfonics and some as recent as Beyonce and Mary J, it’s no wonder why the group, all through thug by nature, can harmonize to bring their harsh and happy lives into a soulful reality to share with others.

For almost 15 years the long overdue success of a music called “gangsta blues” has been suppressed in the trenches of the music world’s undertows. It first began in 1990 when the group, Complexion, was introduced to M.C. Shan by long time friend Akinelye. MC Shan liked their overall talent and style and allowed the young group the opportunity to feature on Snow’s hit single, “Girl I’ve been hurt and I need lover, “but due to young talent and poor management, Complexion took a loss but was motivated to do things the right way. After 2 years of seeking management Complexion performed at Café 211, where they met Robert De Niro and were asked to appear in his upcoming movie, “A Bronx Tale”. At that point their legacy began.

After the attention “A Bronx Tale” brought to their career, Complexion was left with a staggering blow when artist Katrel Brooks was incarcerated for 8 months in the fall of 1994. This allowed Katrel ample time to get his mind together and Darrell “Smoke Francis” Grant used this time to continue in pursuit of management and direction. When they came together in the summer of ’95 they were focused and had matured from their adolescence into manhood. They soon continued rebuilding their relationship with Akineyle, and soon after they were featured on his hit single “Fuck Me for Free.” After endless networking, 3 videos, and numerous features on tracks with artist Capone-N-Noreaga, Complexion felt it was time to bring their career to the next level. Smoke Francis being the parallel mind to partner Katrel, was all for bringing this new genre of music to the world. They made “Gangsta Blues”, a part of life that goes project to project street corner to street corner that people can relate to.

Now here we are 2007. These Gangsta Blues generals are preparing for greatness!!!! Best R&B coupe since Ray Charles infused country into blues. Complexion with their new Korner Boyz movement plan on taking the R&B game over. “All that romance and blues is all good but shit is real nowadays and were gonna be your guide through the good and bad times", when you listen to us said Smoke Francis.

So there you have it people, the next time someone says who is Complexion??? You can say those are those Gangsta Blues generals with that Korner Boyz Movement!!!!
