things have been quiet on

the community spirit front for a while, since the

release of our last e.p. 'the soho sessions' infact. spoons has been busy moving to new york, so we're now international innit. midge and kel have been reproducing. we both had baby girls :)  things are bubbling under on the production front tho. we've got a prog/tech house remix of

'joyous loop' (originally released on bedrock records in '05) on the player

which you can download. check the blogs for details - v much influenced by the space terrace (where we're heading for the closing parties next weekend btw!). also a

cheeky reedit of joan armatrading's 'love and affection'.

more to come soon. oh, and midge has been doing a lot of djing and posting some sets online here : http://fairtilizer.com/users/midge

or just use the player on the left.

a selection of feedback on our last e.p., the 'soho sessions' ep.

"the 'with a princess' track is my personal favorite.when i heard it I thought empty beach, Ibiza, Balearic heaven!" alastair whitehead (errr. legend!)

"another awesome release - Hobo Voyages is amazing!" sonny wharton (various worldwide - worldwide)

"Pretty Good Thing (Mom Learn To Love Mix) is kick ass a real good buzz on the dance floor. gonna be big!" Afi Khan (Master Floppy - One Central / The Arch / Tiger Lounge - Manchester)

who? a group of friends who who've been djing, making tunes, and getting sweaty on dancefloors together since the mid 90's. sharing a love of music, especially that of the house variety. inspired by each other, our parties and the people listed on the left. we started producing tunes to play out, and chill out to ourselves we've now got over a hundred tracks, some signed, some not. check the stuff out on our myspace player and at our website where theres a new player with lots more new + old material. album coming soon.

there's an online photo album here : community spirit flickr photo album

we're not a label - we write and produce tracks and promo them thru

whitenoise promo. we hope a label will pick the tracks up and give them a full release. we've released tracks on lots of labels, including west end records in new york, bedrock in london, and our latest stuff feat alison limerick (more info below) is soon to get a release on the lovely miss moneypennys.

our productions range in style from balaeric down-tempo afterparty stuff to proper dirty dc10 dance your tits off house music. with support from dj's ranging from desyn masiello and his awesome bedrock records compilation + mix thru to rob da bank and his seminal blue room show on radio 1 (see 'sounds like' on the left for some more info on what people have had 2 say).

our stuff is based round live studio sessions, although we produce the f-ck out of anything we record.

so. community spirit : we have been lucky enough to work with some amazing musicians. we go to ibiza a lot. we like it :) esp es vive, space, km5, dc10, the blue marlin, dc10, the terrace. dc10. mid day mondays. you know what i'm talking about! anyway, the community. to mention a few :

monsieur mickey disco who we met while he was playing his magic sax at a bar in the alps while we were snowboarding. it took about 10 records until we realised the sax was live. he rocks.

the amazing sherrod, who sings like an angel. unbelievable. we try out literally 100's of singers (everyone seems to 'sing' these days.!) but sherrod is something v special indeed. on a par with miss alison limerick infact.

alison limerick. what can i say? alison is a proper legend of the dance music world. bona fida. it's bizarre really but 'where love lives' is one of the tracks that stevie symons (our resident podium dancer) always used to drop at the end of his sets at cheeky (the party) back in the 90's. it became a cheeky/bless this house (the. errr. other party!) classic. what a fucking tune. we were gob smacked to find ourselves actually in a recording studio with her! alison, we love u hon. she's a perfectionist, and always wants to get it 100%. a true professional. a diva :)

i've got to tell u about wai. mr iti. sax player, just alround incredible musician. u have got to check out his

batacuta sound machine project.

he's just arrived on myspace, so go easy on him ;)  he's over for womad + some london gigs at the end of july. check him out. he rules. he's also promised a session to wrap up and re-record a lost wai moment from '2002 (it can't be that long!) on a track called 'speak and spell'. watch this space.

got to mention al. salty. mom.

makers of movement. remixer extraordinare. check his mixes. right on the money mate.
