Based in Phoenix since originating in 2005, the members of Comfort For Change consist of Richard Carlise as the voice of the band, Cameron Cook, Jeffrey Robens and Steve Medigovich as the strings, and Greg Frassetti on drums. They blend two unparalleled guitars, a resounding bass, and a core of steadfast drumbeats with double bass for a solid wall of hard rock. Fuse these with undulating roars and screams burning down into melodic vocals, and see why they are one of the more uniquely heavy bands on the local scene. The name Comfort For Change was decided upon when all the members realized that their distinct musical talents and recent major changes in their lives had led them all to jam together. Moving from pounding breakdowns to haunting swings of ballad-like melodies, Comfort For Change is anything but the ordinary and creates a different genre of rock all on their own. While listening to the songs, most people find themselves instantaneously dropping their heads to the catchy beats, notable distortions, and engaging vocals. Major influences include Deftones, Killswitch Engage, 36 Crazyfists, The Bled and Glassjaw. With unpredictable rhythms and metal-searing riffs, their passionate energy and love for a unique and unknown sound makes this band a must to hear, and will leave you desiring to hear more. After winning the Edgefest Big Break competition and playing main stage for the festival, Comfort for Change has been unstoppable. Comfort has shared the stage with Flyleaf, Jimmy Eat World, Primus, Weezer, Sublime w/ Rome, Plain White Tees, Wicked Wisdom, Hot Hot Heat, Hurt, Eisley, Bedouin Soundclash, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Invitro, Chester Benington, Julien K, Hed P.E., Boy Hits Car, Black Light Burns and many others. Comfort released their first highly anticipated album “Stories That Didn’t Hit the Page” independently in September of 2008 and their follow-up "Radio Therapy" in April of 2010.
