Coleen McMahon

Spend a few moments listening to Coleen McMahon sing and her voice will leave you breathless. Her ability to move effortlessly from note to note is an all too rare talent in today's pop world. Originally from Beaverton, Oregon, Coleen, has been catching the attention of music execs all across the country.
During her childhood, she listened to her father sing at church on Sundays, belted out Mariah Carey ballads in her room, and played the notes of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata", all of which inspired her deep love of music and desire to share her gift with others in her own unique way. She started playing the piano by the age of 5 and composing songs by the time she was twelve. On a daily basis, she was either singing at the top of her lungs around the house or practicing the piano. She especially loved putting on living room performances. Performing for her school assemblies, local sporting events and local competitions also provided many opportunities for Coleen to express herself musically. After graduating from high school, she packed her bags and headed to Los Angeles.
Since then, she has been very consumed by her singing, performing and piano based songwriting. In 2007 she began posting videos of herself singing covers and original songs on YouTube. Later that year, she was the winner of the "West Hollywood Idol" competition. In 2008 she was sought out and flown to New York to perform on the Maury Povich talk show. Recently, Coleen has appeared on the Jeffrey Henderson radio show twice, which included an exclusive interview with Lil Zane. With almost 1.5 million YouTube views to date, and over 40,000 friends on Myspace, she has quickly risen to be one of the most viewed musicians online. She has booked shows at the Roxy, The Viper room and is scheduled to perform at SIR in October to promote a new Los Angeles music awards show that will be debuting in 2011.
She spends countless hours alone at her keyboard channeling thoughts, emotions, and memories into songs. Through her lyrics, she touches on the human themes of despair, longing and doubt. In other songs she emphasizes new love, hope, and family. With music being the universal language, her goal is to be a positive influence and a source of inspiration through her voice, piano playing, and lyrics.
