C.B. Biography



C.B. aka Chill Brotha 1 brings a new energy and different flavor to music. He started making his mark about 7 years ago in a group called Def Earz with the underground hit “What’s Really Hood!!!” that actually opened a opportunity for them with LIL Jon as well as being on the TV show “Word On The Street” by G-Money an underground hip-hop show that was airing all over Florida. Unfortunately, due to creative differences and beef within the group they decided to part ways. After nearly dying 5 years ago from his colon ripping and having to get 6-8 feet of it removed, C.B. found a new passion for his music. He began doing show all over the east coast doing well over 100 shows. From open mics to showcase to opening up for artists signed to Slip-n-Slide, IMG records and others C.B. has become a well respected artist in the game. Now after being in hiatus for the last 2 years perfecting his sound, performances as well as getting his health on track. C.B. recently in 2009 signed to Brooklyn West Records/Universal Music Group/Bungalo Records and is set to take the scene again. In the new digital music industry he is a starting to gain his footing and people are starting to listen



Jason L. Jones aka CB born in Liverpool, England moved around with his father in military till he was about 14. While Once his father retired he settled down in Southern Pines, North Carolina the hometown of his father. Spending summers in New York with his family and his hometown of Liverpool, England. Growing up all over the world has given CB a different outlook on life and music then most of his peers in the game. He remembers his first freestyle at the age of 8 years old!!! CB was very shy with his talent up until about his Junior year in highschool when people started hearing his flo. His family and friends and teacher back then new he had a special talent. “He just has different type of flo behind him. You can’t really compare him to no one because he is mix of so many different styles, that he’s created one all his own that is distinct and HOTT!!!” Eddie Jones (C.O.G. Entertainment) After a brief stint in the U.S. Navy. C.B. formed a group known as KJB and they began recording there first demo tape in Orlando, Fl. Which produced an underground hit called “Naw it’s.” In 2005 while in the hospital CB began working on his first solo album/slash mixtape called “Shakin not Stirred” at the time he was known as Cognac Brown. This mixtape is known for hits such as; “OH NO”, “Street Madness”, “The Realness”, “Just YOU”, and “You Can’t Stop IT”. People say CB has New York lyrical state of mind with a Southern Flava and Midwest/westcoast delivery.



Doing over a hundreds different show at all different types of venues including promoting his own show at different clubs with other artists. With his hit single “Gotta Get the Cheeda” ft. Cooly –T and Offical Soja produced by Yung K. CB began catching a serious buzz In 2007 he began getting airplay on Radio stations in Florida such as 91.5 and 95.3 on North Carolina College Radio Stations, radio stations in the Northwest US radio stations and on over 50 internet radio stations. Which prompted him to make a video for the single “Gotta Get The Cheeda which can be seen on youtube. CB was heating, up the culimination coming with being the headline act of the Central Florida Music Showcase in 2007. Dozens of indie labels where interested in CB however, due to still trying to recover from his health issues. CB had to stop performing and decided that it was best not to sign with anyone. Until, he met platinum recording producer Michael Campbell and signed with Brooklyn West Records.



In spite, of some early disappointments, as well as some early successes, CB continues to remain humble, grounded, and dedicated to his fans great music, great performances, and thanks for their support. Now CB after all the years of grinding and heartache and sweat is ready for his first album with major distribution to drop called “The Story of Jason Jones” set to drop beginning of 2011. His myspace currently has over 200,000 plays but CB knows that there are billions of people who still haven’t heard his music and he is determined to reach them. The only way he knows how by getting out there with the people. He is about to hit the road again and begin touring in GA, N.C., Fl., and NYC. To promote his new singles and album coming out late 2010 early 2011 the biggest moment and test of his career.



DJ M-squared has introduced Chill Brotha as "An artist that kicks true knowledge something that this game has lacked for some time." DJ Shu has stated "He's one of a kind he's the type of artist that just makes a track better. Many hip-hop artist have been quoted as saying "He makes you elevate you game on a track. Because he elevates his, most artists are afraid to be on a track with an artist who is more well known or people look at as the hottest. But he's not, he enjoy's the challenge and 9 times out of ten is the hottest artist on the track. He's a Beast!!!" Chill Brotha doesn't like to hype himself up to much. He's cool laid back and loyal to a fault. He let's his music do the talking for him. He is a true artist that just likes to make music, which is why he has something for everybody. He doesn't just talk about the streets, money, and sex he attempts to hit as many topics as he can with his music. The name Chill Brotha 1 came from his father who passed away New Year's of 2008. His father's nickname was "Brotha", and everyone who has meet Chill Brotha 1 always says he is the one of the most chill laid back kats you can meet. Thus, the name CHill Brotha 1 came to be and after so many aliases this one is here to stay.
