Neil Sedaka - Laughter in the Rain (N. Sedaka, P. Cody) ~ Erwin Lazaro 153 - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Where I live, rain during March welcomes the renewal of the earth as spring begins. When April rolls around, the rain comes down even more. But, all that rain doesn't dampen my spirits during the springtime of replenishing. The rain's power of renewing life is a wondrous testimony to the beauty of what will be. Sometimes, it is difficult to smile when too many gray days are strung together while gazing from the "dry" side of a window. It wears on the emotional state of being. When the gloom becomes overbearing, consider the exhilaration of being on the "wet" side of a window. Consider the physical reaction to the rain pouring all over; heart racing, pace quickening, mind focusing on the purpose of getting out of the rain. Instead of shriveling beneath nature's care, stop, and look up! Feel the rain flowing over your face, even for a few moments. Appreciate the exhilaration! Soak it in! I wouldn't recommend taking a bath in the rain, unless you have the casual time to properly care for yourself after the thorough drenching! If you DO have the time, go for it! LOL!

Children get it! My children enjoy the rain coming down and soak it all in, coat in hand and not protecting them. Sometimes, I worry and fret and tell them that they need to be wearing their respective coats. Other times, I smile and chuckle as they run to me in the downpour, glee shining all over their faces as they jump into the vehicle after the school day. The harder the rain ... the louder the laughter, "That was fun!" they scream! Children get it! It's exhilarating!

Spring's renewing rains pave the path for the joy of summer and differ from autumn rains that mark the pending cold of winter. Thus, a sense of hope grows from downpours in March and April. It's a time that marks a sense of anticipation. The spring rains signify the newest blooms everywhere, the returning foliage of a baby green on everything that was bare during winter, the feeling of freedom that un-layering brings, and the freedom of enjoying the outdoors more frequently as the temperatures climb. Well, at least for the northern hemisphere.

Spring and the hope that the season champions also marks the fruition of love. New love, old love, renewed love, platonic love, love for the earth, love for life, love in all forms ... all sounds good to me. Next time the rain comes down, whether it being the gentle kiss of drizzle or the temperamental downpour that soaks in seconds, pay attention. If you happen to be outdoors, strolling along with the one, or ones, you love, consider the opportunity. It's a perfect time to walk hand-in-hand with the one, or ones, you love. Be exhilarated! Feel the shiver that runs up your spine. Enjoy and laugh out loud! I'm fortunate to constantly walk hand-in-hand with the ones I love: my wife and my children. In any case, forget the rain. Just walk hand-in-hand with the ones you love. That's the bottom line.

This week marks the 21st birthday of my wife, yet again! I will always open doors for her. I will always walk hand-in-hand with her, especially in the rain. Next time we're caught in a downpour, maybe, I'll stop us in our tracks and look up at the sky. My love; my wife; when that happens, don't think I'm crazy. Remember this blog and be exhilarated! Happy Birthday, My Love. And, for my wife's birthday in 2013, I covered Neil Sedaka's "Laughter in the Rain". It's a no-brainer!!!

From Wikipedia:
"Laughter in the Rain" is a song recorded by Neil Sedaka and composed by Sedaka with lyrics by Phil Cody. It hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 1, 1975. The song also spent two weeks atop the adult contemporary chart. The song includes a 20-second sax solo by Jim Horn[1] that had initially attracted Phil Cody to write the lyric.
