As individuals I'd say we're all pretty complex, intellectual, spiritual, and most importantly different from one another. But that difference is what makes us who we are as a band. We all bring an element of ourselves which creates one sound that represents coda vesta. We make each other better musicians, we grow every time we jam, molding together in our pursuit of living our dream of music. I've learned a whole lot from the other guys in the band. The greatest gift that exists for all of us is that time lapse when we get in the studio, whether it's a jam session or an intense rehearsal, priorities are no longer priorities, money is just simply paper, and communication becomes the universal language of music. We started our adventure as the band Coda Vesta, which means "dancing of the heart" in 2004. An important message we wanted to send as a collaborative unit when we wrote this record is that we write what sounds good to us, we play it because we love it and we want to touch people with our music like it touches us. In any life situation when you're trying to move forward and obtain your goals there are always bumps in the road. Sometimes you're forced to make decisions for the greater good however much it may hurt your heart.

I might as well get straight to it. So we have the "Boom" on bass guitar. He's a gangsta on the bass, laying down a groovy yet fully rockin vibe that identifies him as an elite bass player. But most importantly a well rounded musician and team player! He also does all the original and creative artwork for the band which leads me to believe he is half boom, a quarter human, a little bit spanish and the rest artistic. One thing i can always credit boomer with is when we're writing new material in the studio and we hit that wall, boom is the dude that often times finds that transition out so we can get back to business and finish our concept. The man's like clockwork!

Derek Yellin, where do i start man? Well i will start by saying that Derek was playing jazz piano with some real old school jazz cats when he was not much older than a sperm. His roots are jazz and his knowledge of music is beyond admirable. That didn't happen over night for Derek. When you have all that ability, when it comes time to work with four other guys on a rock project, you have to learn to adapt quickly to the common writing process. That was a far cry from anything he did from a musical standpoint previously to Coda Vesta. He worked very hard and it eventually became second nature. So the man holds it down on the keys, the synthesizer and back up vocals. He adds an extremely dynamic element to the band. Cheers to Derek.

When we first started the band we were trying out guitarists left and right. We didn't seem to really mesh with anyone. That went on for a year. We linked up with Andy at a halloween party i had at my house in '05 where we played our set with just drums, bass, keys and myself on vocals. We jammed with Andy after that party and knew right away that he was the guy. Andy Ellsworth is like an assassin on the guitar, not to mention the fact he's a phenominal singer which adds an element that makes our band that much more solid and diverse. His guitar licks are tasteful, his playing and performances are amazing and his musical ability combined with his stellar personality are deeper than the mariana trench. Wow Andy, i really think highly of you!

We accidentally tripped over mike when we were. . . . . . .alright mike, no short jokes. Mike Thomas was our latest addition. Thats when we became the transformers. It's a good thing for us, Mike packed up his things in his volkswagen a couple years back, and drove to california from illinois. When your missing something and you finally find it, the feeling is so rewarding. It's like that first sip of water after walking in the desert for a few days. I've never walked in the desert without water before, nor have i really walked in the desert, but i know that's what it's like. Bottom line, the guy rips at drums. Mike joined at a critical time for us and he really came through. A lot of hard work in a really short period of time. He understands the drums and knows how things are supposed to sound. Oddly enough, he's also an alien like the rest of us.

Writing about myselfweird. My name is Zach, and the truth is I'm not here to write about myself. The words I have just written come from my heart and I expect that it will shed plenty of insight about who I am. We are coda vesta.

Truly yours!
