Coach Cap: The man in Charge!!!

A young Marque Taylor better known to us as Coach Cap always knew what he was destined to do in life. He's always had a love for music. Due to his mother’s incarceration he was raised by his grandparents and taught how to DJ by his uncle. He DJ’ed his first party at the age of 8 and everything after that is history. Music became his life and all he wanted to do. He would rush home after school to watch video music box and practice scratches by Jam Master Jay in tougher than leather. Watching movies such as Breaking and Krush Groove he would imitate the rappers and the break dancers with aspirations to do what they did. Though greatly influenced by some of the greatest DJ’s in the game such as Jam master Jay and Dj jazzy Jeff, his infatuation with music didn’t stop there. He was then drawn into writing his own songs being influences by the best of the best MC’s in hip hop at the time such as Run Dmc, EPMD, Eric B. and Rakim, NWA, Das Efx, Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Naughty by Nature, LL Cool J, Kool G Rap, MC Lyte, Salt n Pepa and many others. He would sing along to all of these artist songs and figured why not follow in their foot steps and make great songs of his own. He had a natural talent when it came to writing lyrics and delivering them and began performing in local talent shows, showcases and Clubs in the city, all the while still establishing himself as the go to DJ to rock the house. At age 12 Coach Cap began producing. He would make his own beats and then record his own songs using only a Casio keyboard, a 12 second sampler and two tape decks. That was the beginning, but since then he has come a long way. With music emerging he’s gained new rappers to look up to such as the Lost boys, Wu Tang Clan, 2pac, Biggie, Jay Z, Nas, T.I., Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Young Buck, David Banner, Beanie Sigel, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Pastor Troy, Redman, Three 6 Mafia and the list goes on.

Now 25 years old and a father, Coach Cap has accomplished many things, making a living DJ’ing for different up and coming artist (Dangerous Waters, RCA records “1999”, Shortee Redd, “2006” and R&B Artist, Emanny) and in many big clubs in different states all over the U.S. He is soon hoping to take his talent international to show the world what he has to offer musically. When asked about how he came to calling himself Coach Cap he answered, “I don’t want to be referred to as just a DJ because I do so much more and am good at so much more than just DJing…” The name speaks for itself. He is the man in charge when it comes to anything that he puts his mind to. He has a close-nit team of great writers and young business men that all aspire to be the next big moguls in hip hop. He’s been working with his team for almost 10 years now and all of his partners are truly like family to him. Doe Jones entertainment and clothing is making a name for themselves by hitting the streets with their mixtapes and shirts showing the hood what they’re working with and making moves to expand. With Coach Cap being the master mind behind their music and vocal production the tapes have a sound like none other, making it so that no other team can keep up with the Joneses, and because he is also influenced by different genres of music and listens to artists like Sade, the Temptations, Michael and Janet Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, De La Soul, Guy, 112, Phil Collins, TLC and John Legend he is able to bring a soulful feel to the Doe Jones catalogue. By using his Music as a way to vent and release his inner expressions, it exudes realness. “I want to be able to make people feel good with what I do”. And that he does.

Keeping his family and Friends/Business partners right by his side he won’t be slowing down. Soon the whole world will know the man in Charge… Coach Cap!!!
