People live and breathe music. Sometimes music defines who we are, where we come from, and what we believe in. For some, music is something to rely on. It’s a getaway, or just a reason to scream your favorite song in the car when nobody else can hear you. All in all, music brings us together. Everyone has his or her own tastes and preferences, but music the one thing the entire world shares.

For Cloverleaf, music gives us the opportunity to get away from college, and to put our hearts where they need to be. We are four regular dudes that are juniors attending Penn State University. We have hours of homework, tons of exams, tons of parties, and will have tons of memories. We make music because we love it. It defines us. It keeps us sane. We do this because you comment and tell us that you enjoy listening to our music. It keeps us striving and really doing what we believe in.

Everyone that comes to our MySpace page has something in common with us. So, friend us and say hello even if you live in Kansas or Wyoming (no offense). Tell your friends about our music. You all drive us to keep going forward. Thank you all so much for everything, and let the music live on.

OUR NEW CD SPECTRUM

Let me tell you a little story about this CD. Spectrum is our autobiography. About one year ago, we all sat down to talk about the next couple years of Cloverleaf. We all agreed that we needed to make a CD the right way. After throwing the idea of selling our blood plasma every week for about $30 a pop to raise money, we thought making this CD might be out of reach. Somehow, everything fell into place and the dream of making the perfect CD became a reality.

So what now? Hmm, maybe I should write some songs. It took hours upon hours with me sitting at my piano writing what I felt at the time only to bring the song to the rest of the band telling me that it wasn’t strong or good enough. I went back to the piano pissed off, rewrote the song, and brought it back to the guys the next day for them to tell me that it was “good”. “Good” is not the word a stubborn perfectionist wants to hear when he spent so long trying to write a heartfelt song. Now I realize they were just trying to make me a better songwriter. That’s what a band is all about. That’s what best friends are all about. They took each song I wrote, ripped it up, and made it into the best possible song that it could be. Although it’s hard to agree on everything, we somehow did. The songs on the CD explain who we are, what we went through, and what we’ll become.

Over 7 months of preparation for this CD, we finally rolled into Dragonfly Studios in northern Virginia to be greeted by Scott Spelbring. We walked inside and instantly noticed the platinum and gold CD’s plastered on the wall. It’s pretty crazy to think that we were going to record in a place where Mraz laid down his tracks. After a week of 12+ hour days (thank you for not going insane, Scott), we finally finished. Scott put more life into every song that we had, made us better musicians, and really taught us valuable lessons about being a band.

Spectrum is our best accomplishment. We stand behind this CD 100%. We did it the right way. No regrets. We will push this CD so hard to get where we want to be, to get our music heard, and just know that you all help us so much every time you tell somebody about us, come to a show, purchase a copy of our CD, buy a t-shirt, play our songs for your friends… anything. So please, let us keep living the dream, buy a CD, and be a part of our lives.

Love,

T.J. Cornwall & Cloverleaf
