ClarityinChaos formed in the fall of 2003 in Halton Hills after the fallout of local melodic punk rock quartet Fourcarcrash. Jordan Booth (Drummer FCC) and Chad Campbell (lead guitar FCC) decided that it wasnt quite the time to stop playing, and that they had a strong interest in perusing something greater and more challenging. The idea was for Jordan to to sing and play lead guitar, and Chad to play the bass and take the backup vocals. For the drumming, now adding in long time friend and supporter to the band, Chris Kirk who had just started playing the drums (by the close eye of Jordan) to add a new dimension to rhythms and phasing. The trio jammed for a while demoing and writing new material but they decided after a while to thicken up their sound by adding Graham Walker (Vocal, Guitar) of fourcarcrash and a close friend of Jordan, and a long time writer of music. They were now approaching the sound they wanted, but Jordan was having some trouble singing due to the progressive structure of the music, so the group decided that they should bring in a 5th member to take on the vocal duties. After numerous tryouts, and auditions (Rap MCs ?) they settled on fellow local singer Dan Simmons. After tightening up some new material, the band decided to enter the studio and record a 2 song EP with Ryan Lenssen [Most Serene Republic (Arts & Crafts)] entitled [The Metaphysical Significance of (2004)] the recording process went rather smoothly considering Dan and Chris lack of studio experience. With the completion of their recording, the band played numerous shows in southern Ontario including London, Brampton, and Toronto. The Band soon realized that Dans inability to form any sort of structured vocals over their music, and Growing extremely tired of his constant antics, they decided they had to let him go. Once again a four piece unit back to where they started, Jordan decided on taking back the lead vocal duties full time. Having now a solid number of songs in their repertoire, and some funding from the local label Tearleach Records, the band went and recorded a 3 song EP with Greg Dawson of BWC studio (Moneen, The End, Mare, Wheels on The Bus). The EP Entitled Painting Perpendicular Parallel was released in Oct 2005, and is getting rave reviews already. Punch driving breakdowns, melodic vocals and great use of dual guitars are just a few ways to describe the intenseness ClarityinChaos have to offer. With their debut 3 song EP, the boys in ClarityinChaos have managed to turn heads wherever their music is heard. This 4 piece is a band to watch out for. Boris Cho /Makeout Point Records. For a self-claimed "do-it-yourself" group they sound extremely polished. Comparable to boys night out this band combines a light emo style with some good ol' screamo. A crystal ball would likely predict the upcoming success of this foursome" 4 out of 5 Michelle Titus. The band is set on continuing to play shows and building up a reputation for their live performances. Plan on them recording a full length in the spring/summer of 2006 as they have been working on new material, and are prepare to make their mark on the Indie / Hard Alternative music scene.
