With a voice radio can get its arms around, a look the camera loves and a personality that warms the room, C.J. Garsee definitely has what it takes to be “The Next Rising Star!”

So much talent has come out of southeast Texas in the recent past it is beginning to appear to some as the “New Nashville”. From this pool of talent another fresh new artist, C.J. Garsee, is cutting her own path to bring “her” brand of music to the forefront. C.J. is an up and coming singer/songwriter with a sound all her own. Her blend of melodious styles and heart hitting lyrics has an unmistakable signature that is sure to catch the listener’s ear and keep their toes tapping. Singing has been her passion for many years, but a part of her life forever. C.J. says, “Making music is something I have always done, no matter where life has led me, I’ve always had music.”

C.J.’s singing style has been influenced by all genres of music, from country and R&B to pop and rock. She blends the best of each together to produce a soulful sound that really hits home. C.J. has been influenced by her love of many different artists like Jennifer Nettles, Reba, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera.

In the spring of 2006, her senior year, C.J. was invited to be the opening act for an “In the Round” with, Mark Nesler, Jennifer Hanson, Mike McQuerry and Steve Waites. She delivered an unforgettable show that had the crowd on their feet. Soon after C.J. began working with Mike McQuerry and David Reed writing songs. In the fall of 2006 she signed on with Mike and David’s label G.O.T. Music and began putting together her first album. “Believe In Me” was released in June of ‘07 with the single “I Have To Leave You Now” being added to radio stations across Texas. CJ was the feature artist of the day on nationally syndicated radio show “Sunday’s Kind Of Country”.

During the summer of ’07 CJ joined “The Twangster’s Union” an amazing band out of Lake Charles LA. She is currently playing rodeos, fairs, festivals and other local venues around Texas, Louisianna and Tennessee. CJ was spotlighted singing the national anthem on ESPN and NBC Sports coverage of the 2007 Big Bass Splash

Mike McQuerry comments, “C.J. has shown an incredible vision and commitment toward her music career. She not only has the tools to be a great singer/songwriter, she also possesses a “big picture” understanding of the hard work it takes to be competitive in today’s market. She is, without a doubt, up to the challenge.”
