Well.

I'm sure you will have all noticed that there have been no gigs in the diary for a very long time, no updates or new tunes. Sadly this does mean the end for CityRoyals. The band decided to call it a day mutually after deciding it was time to move on to pastures new and exciting.

We are all still playing, keeping the spirit of Jungle Punk alive.

DAVE has moved to Brighton where he is attending BIMU, SCOTT is running a successful Club Night in Chester, RICH has joined a new band, LEWIS and Crash Have a new band.

Check out the links below to investigate.

We'd like to thank all the bands and people we met along the way especially Chris Bridgett, The Mooncats, Ofracas, The Buzzcocks, Mystery Jets, MCR, XFM, Pennyfamous (RIP), Sicknote and Deano, Morgan Family (Cheers Matt!x), Dan the van, Chrissie P and all the Chester crew who followed us around and gave us lifts, money, advice and love.

There will be a compilation CD if anyone wants one, just message and ask, one is 16 tracks long(WHAT??) and another with of really raw rare shit.

In between times be safe, and if you cant be safe be careful

CityRoyals are a four piece band from Manchester, England. Many tales have been told of how these exceptional young gentlemen came together, Either on a pirate ship or in prison its your choice. One story depicted an abandoned laboratory and a scientist named Ralf who would talk obsessively about the miracle of the bicycle. Some people would have you believe that CityRoyals are four mildly successful accountants and a cocktail pianist posing as guitar wielding youths and that they are all nocturnal.

This is all lies

The truth is, CityRoyals are one of the more exciting and fresh young bands in the pond today, bringing their lyrical snide and wit to the table served with a platter of noise that can only be described as an electronic version of what its like fight a bigger lad and win.

Admittedly talk is cheap - but here are a few things that people ‘in the know’ have said about them;

"Cityroyals have returned more confident, tighter and armed with stronger songs; old favourites as well as newer tunes are received to by a raptuorous and rowdy student audience There is a sense they could really take off this year" (Evening Standard)

"CityRoyals will be a force to reckoned with in the future. Straight outta the North-West, their set is raw but tight. It's a grittier street sound, Part The Jam, part The CribsThey're bloody good!" (PlayMusic Magazine)

"CityRoyals are the unexpected gem of this evening.Their live show is clear, raw, intense and undeniably more impressive than their contemporaries" (Same Teens Manchester)

"Hyperactive little fuckers, i was knackered just watching them" (Guy Garvey, BBC Music and Elbow)

"I dont really want to insult them by throwing other bands names around cos they piss on most of them from a great height. Have a listen and try and name half a dozen better unsigned bands from anywhere. You'll love them and then won't be able to. These guys will be MASSIVE." (Time for Heroes Fanzine)

"Carlsberg dont do bands, but if they did" (Danish)

"CLASS" (Clint Boon, Xfm Manchester)

"Absoloute W****rs" (David St Hubbins)
