CIERRA BARRERA

On the 26th day of the new millennium a beautiful baby girl named Cierra Michelle Barrera was born. On January 26th, 2000 in the city of Saginaw, Michigan is where her life began. Cierra was the youngest of four children. She had two sisters and one brother. Her parents 22 year old Sherry Garcia and 21 year old Bobby Barrera were ecstatic about having a millennium baby! Even though her parents were young and not financially stable Cierra was raised in a happy home. Surrounded with endless possibilities of where life could take her. Cierra was always an entertainer even in her first 3-4 years of life. She would often sing and dance at family gatherings, although her very first performance would come during a camping trip in 2005. Cierra had everyone gathered around the campfire, maybe 20-25 people and just wowed them as she sang her favorite Cheetah Girls song without hesitation or stage fright!

Now with her father being a recording artist himself Cierra found herself in a actual recording booth soon after to record her very first single titled “Daddy DoYou Love Me?” It was a hot summer day in 2007 that Cierra’s dad came to her with a track he had just received from a friend with the idea of her working on her first actual song. Cierra began coming up with melodies and lyrics to the beat before finally collaborating with her dad to create what a number of people have called one of the most touching and beautiful songs they’ve ever heard! The song which is a duet with her dad has since become the catalyst and cornerstone to Cierra’s blossoming career. Soon after the release of “Daddy Do You Love Me?” a low budget video was shot and has had hundreds of thousands of plays on Cierras’ myspace page as well as on youtube!

In September of 2007 during one of Saginaw’s biggest events of the year the Low4Life custom lowrider and carshow, Cierra performed “Daddy Do You Love Me” live for the very first time. As hundreds of people watched a then 7 year old Cierra lit up the stage with an undeniable knack for being a entertainer in the music world. Cierra would go on to record her follow up single titled “Doing My Thang” and have her first two singles pressed up and released on CD in 2008. With sales surpassing 3000 in the first 12 months (just locally) Cierra had become a very popular girl in her area! Since her first performance Cierra has done numerous shows including at the biggest venue in her hometown the Dow Event Center. She has also performed at the World’s Largest Free Fair in Ionia, Michigan and for the Boys and Girls Club of Saginaw on an annual basis.

Not only had she excelled with her music but in school also. Cierra has maintained an all A average throughout grade school and has dreams of becoming a school teacher as an adult. She is a bright, intelligent, and sometimes corky young girl who is just full of life. Last Christmas Cierra along with her Mother decided to make gift baskets which included her CD and poster and raffled them off at her school, they then donated the money to the Salvation Army. She has also had some additions to her life over the years in the form of a little sister and a little brother who just absolutely love and look up to her. Cierra has not only inspired family members and friends to dream big but also people whom she has never met via her myspace page.

Cierra’s talent along with her voice have just continued to grow and she has compiled enough songs to start thinking about a full debut album! With songs like the energetic dance tune “Let’s Get It Started,” to the feel good sound of her fourth song titled “Summer Time” Cierra’s fan base is growing at a more rapid pace than expected. She also has a follow-up to “Daddy Do You Love Me?” in the works, titled “Mom, I Love You” which is a must hear for Cierra fans and fans of good, positive, family oriented music. With Cierra being so young but yet so talented it is very likely that this young lady will be around for many years to come. Yes she still has room to grow and improve of course but with her mother and father keeping her head in the right direction and her schooling first Cierra shouldn’t have a problem balancing her music career with the rest of her life!
