The story of Chrome goes like this, started breaking in 1983 after seeing the buffalo girls video on top of the pops, realised that i was pretty wack so i started rhyming in 1984 at the tender age of 9. After listening to 'Sucker m.c's' for the first time i knew that this thing called HipHop was going to be with me for the rest of my life. Me and my brother moved to Norwich when i was ten and we started making tracks, pause mixing on a double tape deck using breaks off 'the history of HipHop'. Even though the quality was ruff this was the early blueprint for what was to be the 'Def Tex' sound. We met up with 'Dj Sure Delight' and started performing. One of my favourite memories was winning the Brixton illin' rap clash at the 'Fridge' in 1988. After winning this competiton we went on to support acts like BDP, De la soul, 3rd Bass, Cash money and Marvelous, and the list goes on. In 1989 we got signed by Ten records (subsiduary of Virgin) most famous for Soul II Soul, Mantronix, T La Rock etc. Nothing was released on Ten but we went on to release our own stuff with new recruit 'The Anthropologist' on local label Soundclash records. With several releases under our belt we moved on to bigger things with our first release on london based HipHop label Son records. The 'Poetic speech techniques' E.P. was given single of the month in D.J.MAG aswell as other rave reviews. With the 'Synchronize' E.P. featuring the introduction of super dope m.c and close friend D P F doing well and the 'Serene bug' L.P. featuring Ty, Juice Aleem, Ezra, Cappo, DJ Plus one, HKB Finn, D P F and added production of the Large Lefties also getting some good reviews things were going well. Since then we have finished the follow up L.P. and i have been busy working on my solo project aswell as working with Sir Beans O.B.E., K.Delight, Ransom, Tom Tom, Chronic Redeye, Ill Inspired and other various projects that i am involved in.
