Christian Seith, a solo guitarist native to Washington, DC turned Denver Transplant, assembled BEMUSED from a unique crew of his fellow Lamont School of Music colleagues in the winter of 2009. Infusing ethereal elements of vibraphones, melodica, and upright bass with driving rhythms of drums, and acoustic guitar along with poignant lyrics, Bemused went from jam sessions in January to the recording studio in late June.

Through collaborating the high caliber musicianship of Mark Clifford on vibes, Aaron Hochberg on melodica, Neil Hebbert on upright bass, Nic Thornsberry on drums and Christian Seith’s songwriting, BEMUSED cruised through the studio in two days to produce their debut EP, Departed Ones. The album has found a welcoming reception among fans and music critics.

Shortly after recording Departed Ones, however, Mark Clifford and Aaron Hochberg found hooks they could not be lured from outside of both Bemused and Colorado. Clifford is now is in the East Bay area of North Cali producing and composing original music, while Hochberg returned to his hometown of St. Louis, Mo to record for a project that would find itself on a nationwide tour.

Bemused now sought of a voice that could not only replace, but augment their original sublime sound. In seeking to continue their Ethereal, yet Funky Acoustic rock, they called upon the virtual treasure chest of effects and musical chops in fellow Lamont School of Music guitarist Colby Marks.

The once quintet turned quartet, BEMUSED continues to gig around Denver displaying their signature array of musical complexion.
