Acoustic sound with punch!
Chris Shermer grew up in Austria, GB and Australia. Chris Shermer's music is melodic
without baby, baby schmalz, dirty without being sloppy. The songs tell stories.
Evidently many styles of music are featured at a Chris Shermer concert:
Songs in styles ranging from Folk to Funk, Alternative Rock, Reggae, Blues, Latin and
even Hip Hop. Chris' smooth Voice (he studied Jazz singing with Mark Murphy (Grammy
nominee) and Michele Hendricks ) and special unique style of Acoustic Guitar playing –
sometimes sounding like 2 or 3 Guys at once is unique and Chris Shermer is definitely
one of the most interesting acoustic Guitar Players =Singers = Songwriters on the scene
at this moment.
Chris is the ultimate musician, touring 200 days a year playing concerts in clubs and
festivals all over Europe and Asia
He has toured with and supported many major acoustic artists among them Ben Harper,
Donavon Frankenreiter, Xavier Rudd , Wallis Bird, Nica Costa etc.
His new songs "Everywhere" and "Smalltown Graveyard " have become alternative radio
hits in many European countries.
The wonderfull song "Smalltown Graveyard" is a song about Life and Loss, but with a
positive vibe about it It is a hommage to life and to a good friend who died in a train
accident fire.
The new Cd "Diamonds From Demons" rocks! Chris Shermer invited Percussionist
David Leach (Ben Harper, Jack Johnsson, Donavon Frankenreiter, David Bowie, Earth
Wind and Fire etc.) to play on the Album. It has received raving reviews for its uniquenes
and versatility and the beauty of the compositions.
Chris has spent most of his youth travelling the globe "I can't turn away all the sounds
that I have come across in my life-so every piece of music I compose is eclectic. Every
piece has a unique quality I don't want every song to sound similar to the one before.
