Chris Walton, aka Chris Inperspective was born in Lewisham, SE London. From an early age he felt at home in music, leading him to the electronic experimentation that would set the stage for what is now known as Inperspective Records, a Label synonymous with innovation in electronica.

As early as 1992, Chris became known via the Hip Hop genre of ‘Pure Cut Productions’, featured on Choice FM with DJ 279 and Big Ted. Soon after that though his love of early breakbeat/hardcore was found through Rush and Kool FM.

A turning point came when he became friends with Equinox while going to the Legendary “Innersense” Night at the Lazer Dome in Peckham, South London. The two shared a vision of the DnB genre that was allowed a platform to be more experimental than the established status quo.

He then began actively playing-out around the UK as a DnB DJ, as well as joining forces with long time friend Qdini on the Pure Vision radio station.

Inperspective Records was then born in 1997. At the time it was heavily influenced by the Good Looking and Reinforced Labels, which were then promoting a DnB sound that was altogether more innovative and deeply felt than ‘the norm’.

The first Inperspective release, by Equinox under the alias “Tek Unlimited” received much acclaim by those tuned into fresh underground flavours. It never reached mass recognition however, due to the then public unfamiliarity with their style at the time

Chris continued to assist in the running of the Pure Vision radio station as well as DJ around the UK. He also linked up with ASC and Senses, two influential producers who he met through going to the legendary Progression Session Nights.

2000 saw Chris progressing his musical passion by continuing to develop innovative sounds and releases with Senses, Equinox and ASC. As well as linking up with the likes of Fracture & Neptune, Wilsh and Breakage.

Due to the conviction that while the DnB scene had some talented artists driving the sound, there were still elements that did not have an arena for free and innovative expression, Chris started the now legendary Technicality Nights in October 2001. These nights came to be known for definitively delivering some of the hottest, freshest sounds in the genre, adding new breaks and influences that had not been heard before.

The first Technicality AllNighter in 2003 received tremendous critical acclaim and stood as testament to the fact of a growing fan base for percussive sounds that offering more than the same old tried and tested loops. He has continued to host the successful monthly Technicality nights, as well as tour throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, bringing the progressive Inperspective sound to a broad global audience, as well as periodically doing more Technicality all night events in different locations around London.

He is currently recognised as an innovative producer, respected DJ and host to some of the most cutting-edge dance nights on offer. In addition, Chris is a regular guest at the legendary Renegade Hardware nights and has played at Progression Sessions, Swerve, Noir and Traffic events, always delivering the innovative sounds that Inperspective fans have come to expect.

2007 sees Chris and his Inperspective and INP labels continuing their drive to deliver nothing but the freshest in sound along with the launch of the new downbeat label Inprint, as well as generally introducing a host of new and established talent who defy boxes and promise a consistently fresh vein in electronic dance music.
