I am a Producer/Drummer/Engineer/Song-writer living in Melbourne Australia for the last 19 years. I am a founding member of True Live, Cookin on 3 Burners and Candice Monique & The Optics. I joined TZU since June 08. After Mixing Cookin on 3 Burners "Soul Messin' (FREESTYLE UK), Candice Monque & The Optics "IN MY SOUL" (FREESTYLE UK), and the sure Shot Hunters album in 08, I played drums on MERCURY PRIZE 09 winner SPEECH DEBELLE'S new album "SPEECH THERAPY". i am now workin on 2 eps for SIMON WRIGHT and INNER CITY SCIENCE, & remixes. I am now touring EUROPE with Cookin' on 3 Burners all of SEPT 09.

I was born of Armenian descent in Montreal, Canada to Roupen Khatchoyan and Arpine Marcarian .

Since the age of 4, i've been playing drums and hand-percussion.

My mom used to take me to my dad's gigs in Montreal which i loved . and have vague memories of mixing cocktails and drinking some too

We moved to America(New Jersey) so that my mom was closer to work at the time in NYC. I was 9 yrs. old and got my first kit, (a Ludwig none the less), given to me from the drummer (Bedo Derbedrossian) in my dad's band (Les Diapasons), which is "The Tuning Forks" in French, and quickly learned to play. I soon joined the school band and started to jam with tapes and friends. I then moved to Jax.,Florida at 14 yrs. old and joined the marching band there and got introduced to Jazz and took interest in many African styles of drumming In 1990 I arrived at my present destination of Melbourne Australia, where my father was/is living. here my world as a professional drummer/producer came to happenmore later.
