24 year old, Cherish Ryans, is a born entertainer with a remarkable background and training that consists of Acting, Dancing, Singing, Song-writing, Modeling and Choreography. Since her birth in 1984 Cherish has expressed a sincere and devoted passion for the art of entertaining and performing. She began honing her craft of acting since the age of six while performing in community plays and taking center stage in school events. In high-school, Cherish was a theatre student, apart of the school chorus, a member of the Dance Company and a cheerleading captain. These activities each contributed to the enhancement of her artistic expression and display. Immediately after graduating high-school Cherish moved to Los Angeles and hit the ground running, gaining knowledge and experience in TV and Film. She started as a background actor on a number of shows and movies to observe and learn the "in's and out's" of the business. Several months later, Cherish landed several feature roles on network television and music videos and has attended several classes and workshops for acting and improv.
Her talent and ongoing drive to entertain also landed her the opportunity of becoming a back-up singer /dancer for the sensational recording artist "Petra Luna!" After becoming a member of "The Petra Luna Show" Cherish toured all over Los Angeles performing live in a number of venues which included: "Whiskey A-Go-Go", "The Pig & Whistle", "The Century Club", "Hard Rock Cafe(Universal Studios)", "Hollywood Park Casino", "BB Kings", "Club Ice", "The Sphinx Café", "The Rio", "The Cove" and many, many more. She has also appeared on Domestic & International television, and on indie radio. After being with the group a few years, Petra Luna had not only become one of Cherish's greatest friends but also her mentor. The Latin artist encouraged and guided her, and expressed enormous belief and support in Cherish's skill, talent, and destiny. With that, Cherish began vigorously honing her craft, learning the business, networking, and constantly engaging her love for music so that she could pursue and establish a long term career within the industry as a lead vocalist.
While breaking out on her own, Cherish became the newest member of the new record label "D.C.B. Entertainment" as an R&B artist. She was instantly attracted to the independent label for their driven work ethic that matched her own and their "family-like" chemistry. But most of all, she admired their sincere and dedicated quest for a positive evolution in the progression of urban music, and it was an honor to be welcomed amongst so many other talented artist of D.C.B. She plans to remain a longstanding member and to collaborate and thrive within the label. She is currently in and out of various studios recording her new album and working on the new developments in her career as a rising female vocalist.
Cherish Ryans, who is also a plus size model for commercial and print, is striving towards a long term career in the entertainment industry. She is constantly working to perfect her "range" as an actor, allowing her to land roles in any genre of film. Her hopes are to acquire the skill level and success of some of her greatest influences such as "Bette Davis," "Angela Basset," "Meryl Streep," "Halle Berry," "Janet Jackson," "Madonna," "Tina Turner," "Etta James," "Patti LaBelle," and more. As a dedicated, hard worker in the business Cherish is at the beginning of a promising and successful career as a quadruple threat entertainer and has no plans of ever slowing down.
