James "Chase Green" Brown otherwise known as Boy Brown grew up in the heart of San Francisco in the Fillmore District. Anybody who knows anything about San Francisco knows that the Moe in its heyday was heavily populated with drugs and prostitution. James decided at a young age to follow in his grandfathers footsteps, whom was one of the only Black business owners in the district, and pursue a career that would be influential in his community so he could be a positive role model for those youngsters coming up behind him. He grew up in the church and was a part of the choir from a young age. Music became one of his first loves.
However, James also had a love for drawing and competed in both local and national competitions. He decided to make his education a priority, and he began attending Sonoma State University to pursue a career in Graphic Design, while creating cd covers and designs for local bay area rappers and musicians. Due to family hardship, James had to put his education on hold to help out his family financially. James continued to due projects for local musicians, and decided to make music his priority in 2000.
His plan was to own an independent record label encompassing categories of music such as hip-hop, rap, neo-soul, and R&B and build it to one day be recognized as a prosperous and world-renowned icon in the music industry. James began producing tracks, reading books, and surrounding himself with local talent to improve his skills as a producer. He moved down to Los Angeles in 2002 where he built a music studio on his property and created a name and image for his record label. He immediately signed artists and producers to Titanium Avenue Records, and began working on several projects.
Street credibility led him to be recognized sooner than he had anticipated, and fellow musicians in the industry pushed the young CEO to submit music to popular record labels, including major companies such as Sony and Universal Records. This 6'8", 300lb CEO continues to grow as an independent Record label owner, and to be original in his musical sound. He is also exploring new genres of music and talent.
