Charles Billingsley

Charles Billingsley is one of the leading Christian soloists in America today.



Charles serves as Worship Leader for the 24,000 member Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA and the nationally-broadcast Live from Liberty television program. Charles also serves as the Artist-in-Residence for the 10,000 resident students at Liberty University and a senior advisor to the over 500 students of the Liberty Worship Institute.



In early 2007, Charles returned to Thomas Road and LU after spending two years as Worship Leader at Shadow Mountain Community Church in San Diego, where Dr. David Jeremiah serves as Pastor.



Charles' solo performances are in high demand, averaging as much as 100 concerts a year, in churches, conferences, and television productions, including The Inspirational Network (INSP) and Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN).



With an accomplished music career, including a two-year tenure as lead vocalist for the award-winning vocal group Newsong, including six 1 singles (four with Newsong), Charles is widely recognized as among the top solists among Christian artists.



Charles has recently begun writing for a much anticipated new solo album. It will be the first project full of original material since his album "Secret Conversation" four years ago. It is expected to be released in late Spring of 2008.



With such an extensive musical history to his credit, it hardly seems right to say he's "just getting started." But, that's exactly how Charles feels.



Charles believes that music is one way to link the traditions of the past with the yearning of today's generation to know God in a deeper fashion. The bridging of young and old through his ministry in song is perhaps what Charles does best of all.



"Charles is one of the few artists who can walk into so many different scenarios and make them work," says friend and renowned music producer Don Koch. "His audiences range all ages and denominations."



"Worship is not a fad," says Charles. "It's biblical. I think we now have a generation who wants to know who God is. They're searching for real truth and real life. So many of our songs are completely vertical in nature. We intentionally write these songs straight to God."



God has indeed blessed Charles bith amazing talent and a voice with power and range that is nearly unmatched among Christian artists today. Yet he remains humbled by the impact of a ministry that has touched the lives of millions, both in person and through television and albums.



"For all these years, it's been wonderful to see lives changed as a result of the concert ministry," Charles says. "But I love the fact that I am now having the opporutnity to influence and invest in people over the long-term."



Whether it's leading worship at Thomas Road, working with eager young students at Liberty University, traveling the road to hundreds of churches and other venues, or producing a studio album.Charles Billingsley has clearly been anointed by God to bring the life-changing love of Jesus Christ to the nations.
