We're Charge the Gates from Whitby, Ontario.



The idea of Charge the Gates first came about after Tom, Kyle and Rory saw a show and were inspired to make a band of their own. Almost immediately they started looking for people to fill the role of drummer and vocalist. A few months later they found Jason and Nick, who fit the spot perfectly. Even upon first practice together they went and recorded their first song "Cannons Fire" (we know. cheesy and lame) on Rory's iMac.



This is when we first became a "full" band in June 2007, and have been working hard at getting things going ever since. Since then we had keyboardist by the name of Matt Smith, but he left since he wanted to pursue music of a different style. In December of 2008 we recruited Kory Ross into the band, taking on Matt Smiths old role as keyboardist.



Once Kory was brought into the band we had a bit of a break to write new music and we think we are finally finding who and where we are as a band. Where the future takes us we don't know, but only time can tell.



We're not going to try and glorify ourselves in this bio, because thats not what this band is about. It's just about playing the music we want to play. Come check us out some time, our goal is that you'll be happy you did.
