Channing

Channing Banks was born in Stanford, California, USA. Her family moved to Seattle, Washington when she was twelve years old. As a child Channing was very interested in music and furthered her knowledge of this by learning to play the piano and the flute. She later picked up the guitar which was the perfect accompaniment to her poetry.
Before she moved to Italy, Channing lived in Mexico, Taiwan and France. In the summer of 2002, she began her collaboration with Offlimits, one of Italy's leading dance record companies and they worked together on finding the right sound and style to frame Channing's extraordinarily evocative voice.
The first song they produced was "Bootsy Bootsy Boom", a dance track that reached the top 20 in the Official Spanish Single Chart as well as being placed on the soundtrack of famous television shows such as Big Brother and Cronicas Marcianas. At the same time, Channing began her career as composer: she wrote tracks for Benny Benassi (a 2008 grammy winner) and his other projects such as FB (Ferry Corsten/Benny Benassi and Benassi Bros), Ann Lee, Whigfield and In-Grid, who's album Rendez-vous which was of enormous success in Easter Europe.
In 2007 Channing's first solo pop/dance album "To be free" was released in collaboration with the Alessandro Benassi. At the time she also a featured singer on several dance projects such as Benassi's Mobbing's tracks "Breaking my heart" and "Picante" and in House*Less song "Walking on Sidelines".
In 2009 Channing composed and sang Benny Benassi's single "Come fly away" which landed on dance charts and dance floors all over the world. It was also place in more that on movie soundtrack.
In March 2010 her second solo and first acoustic-pop album Majesty was produced. The softer instruments proved to be an excellent elements illustrate Channing's vocal talents although she her success came from a dance remix of the second album single "You've Got Me Out". She wrote and composed the majority of the songs on both her To Be Free and Majesty albums.
Channing became a free-agent in 2011 and after taking a year off that same year, she started up big again in 2012 collaborating with artists all over the world.



Channing Banks was born in Stanford, California, USA. Music has always played a great part in her life, starting with her father who used to sing on the radio in the late 50's and her grandmother Emily who raised her listening to Pavarotti.
Her family moved to Seattle, Washington when she was twelve years old and Channing furthered her knowledge of music by beginning to play the piano and the flute. She also began writing poetry and sung in her school choir. At 17 she finished highschool one year before her fellow classmates and took a year off to study Spanish on a small island in Mexico. During this time, she danced at a special ceremony for the coronation of the carnival queen. Upon her return to the United States she began at the University of Washington and graduated with a degree in linguistics.
Immediately after graduation, Channing left for a year in Taiwan where she worked as a teacher. During this year she studied Chinese and Buddism, also winning a prize in an English poetry contest. Due to a difficult language barrier, she lived a rather solitary existence, frequently painting and writing music.
The year after was spent in Montpellier, France where she studied interior design and perfected her French, which has been of great use to her career, giving her the chance to write songs on even French albums. The following summer of 2002, Channing decided to settle down in Italy, and from that point on, her life made a dramatic change and Channing knew that music could be her dream come true.
She met Larry Pignagnoli at Off Limits, one of Italy's leading music production companies) and Larry, who has been spotting talent successfully for two decades, offered her a contract. They began to work on finding the right sound and style to frame Channing's extraordinarily evocative voice and it was found with her latest album Majesty. Channing is now collaboration with various record companies on new productions and enjoying her musical career.
