Ask Bailey what he wants out the game and the high-energy artist with the player
demeanor is quick to let you know Money, Power and Respect. Thats what every
real hustla wants. Not willing to just settle for one, Young Bay continues to
stay on the grind.
Born and raised in the heart of the musical, but crime riddled streets of San
Francisco, California. Bailey is the pride and joy of Mama Sharon and J.
Stomp Down Bailey. With his parents splitting up after 13 years, Bailey spent
time between two opposite of the earth households. Both parents were musically
rich, Mama Sharons was filled with gospel while Stomp Downs was pure pimpin and
hustlin. Brought up in the melting pot of The City better known as The Fillmore
District, Bailey was exposed to everything under the sun from pimps, drug
dealers, and killers in the projects to hippies and musicians on the world
famous Haight & Ashbury. What seems to be a dramatic and confusing environment
for some, it is only the height of a great artist story.
Like most stars, Baileys talent was first spotted by the ones closest to him.
From an early stage in his life, Bailey, along with his big brother San Quinn,
the Bay Area Rap Legend became a family entertainment. It would start off with
them paying me to dance at all of the family events, they would hand me 5 dollars and I would do all the moves, he recalls. While San Quinn went on to full out doing music, leaving school early he was soon honored in the Guinness Book Of World Records for his work on over 300 albums, his lil bro would take a different path.
Being on the top of his game didnt always mean controlling the microphone for
this talented young star. Basketball was actually his first love and savior from
the streets when he was coming up. His father and big brother are the two
inspirations he credits as his biggest influences in life. Even though pops did
time in the pen he made sure his presence was always felt by never losing touch
with his kids (to the best of his ability), Bailey says. Although ballin would occupy the majority of his time at Washington High School, Bailey began to get the itch to perform by
watching Quinn blow up and do his thing on the Indie rap scene. Bailey says, Quinn was like Frank Lucas to me, meaning if he would have sold pounds of dope, I would have to.
Nobody knew I could rap he remembers. I made it a point not to let anyone know
until I wanted them to, because I wanted to graduate before I put myself on the
radar Bailey says.

With high school out the way, Bailey dove head first into the rap game, joining the group Fully Loaded with childhood potnas Big Rich and Don Toriano. With the support from Done Deal Ent., Fully Loaded dropped the street heaters Millennium Attitude and the follow up Reloaded gaining hood fame immediately and showing alot more growth. When we first started all we wanted to do was tear niggaz heads off, we felt like the only way 2 get respect was to take it, Bailey says. And thats exactly what they did. Now battle tested and hood certified the three devised a plan to drop solo albums and set the world up for The Takeover. With that in mind 2005 should be one for the ages. But things didn't work out, and Bailey thought about hanging up rapping and just helping Big Bro promote and make hits. Or just moving to the east coast or the south and just finding a new occupation.
Not long into thinking about which route to take, Bailey soon ran into long time family friend and multi-platinum producer/songwriter J. Valentine. J. Valentine was thinking about starting a label back home in The Bay after years of working with huge artist such as 2pac, Boyz II Men, NSync, Babyface, Tyrese and Mario to only name a few. We been knowing each other our whole lives, shit our fathers pimped together on the back streets of Fillmore in the 70s, it was only right we got it poppin, Bailey says. From day 1 when we hollered in the barbershop I knew he was the next thing to blow. His drive is incredible, I couldnt ask for a better artist to build the label with, Valentine says. With Quinn and The Done Deal Fams blessing, the two baby faced hustlas started bangin out song after song amazing over 80 bangers in just 6 months.
First to hit the streets was Livin Da Dream Mixtape Vol. 1 featuring the one and only, yo mamas favorites, yo daddys favorite, fuck it everybody you know favorite Hulk Hogan on the introduction bringing in The Champ like never before.
But dont get it twisted the mixtape is only the appetizer. Baileys long awaited debut solo album "Champ Bailey", has fire. The young fella stays ready to serve with tearin the club up anthems like the street single "Fuck Yo Couch". Baileys clever wordplay and players charm makes even the most conservative listener wanna fuck up a someones couch. This song is gon catch everybody off guard, its the most disrespectful shit since Suge allegedly hung Vanilla ice off the balcony, (Laughs) Bailey says.
Along with the first heavy bangers "Where Yo Hood At", "The Llama" feat. Turf Talk became one of the best hood classics. With a strive to be original, Bailey made sure he showed himself from all angles, especially his player side with heaters like "Hey Lil Breezy", "Stay Down" (Forever) feat. Keyshia Cole and the sure fire hit "Get 2 Know Ya" feat. Shawn Stockman of the super group Boyz II Men.
With that album I planned on bringing the light back to The Bay, along with Big Rich, Don Toriano, Ya Boy, Traxamillion, Turf Talk, Frontline, F.A.B, Killa Keise, Balance, Sky Balla, Slo-O, Willie Joe, Devo, Telly Mac, HoodStars, D-Lo, Beeda Weeda, J-Stalin, Davinci, Even Odds, Boo Banger, The Federation, Willie Hen, Mob Figgaz, and Droop E as well as all the heavy hitters that laid the ground work for us from E-40, Too Short, San Quinn, Messy Marv, D-Moe, Seff, MC Hammer, Digital Underground, Luniz, B-Legit, Dru Down, Keak Da Sneak, Rappin 4Tay, Mac Mall, The Click, Guce, C-Bo, Cellski, JT The Bigga Figga, Andre Nickatina, RBL, 11-5 and Cougnut, Mista Cee, HitMan And Mac Dre R.I.P, We Back Damnit Bailey says.
Bailey was stationed in Atlanta, and making his rounds all over the south to get the world ready for his Cityboyzmuzik/Jrecords Debut. Bailey has worked with Lil Jon, D.j. Toomp, Collipark, Cool & Dre, Swizz Beatz, Jim Jonsin, Lil Ronnie, Fly Fellaz, Tank & Texx, along with countless D.J.'s across the globe.
Bailey dropped the "Air Em Out Mixtape and recently released a SERIOUS RESPECT GETTER C.D. simply titled "JUST LISTEN".
Now back home in San Fransisco Bailey released "CityBy Bailey" which ft. The Street Hit "Stash" ft. Y.B. The RockStar. While Bailey is working on numerous other mixtapes (TBA) to stay relevent he is gearing up for his World Wide Solo Album (possibly self titled "Bailey") leading off with the single "Buzz'n", Bailey says all of this is just to get awareness up and make the buzz so crazy the world will DEFINATELY know who's next. Bailey adds "I feel like its now for us, my Aunt Gail (R.I.P) always told me peoples biggest problem is that theyre afraid of stardom so dont be afraid to be the 1.

In her memory, Bailey has his eyes set on being Neo! The One, The Only, The Champion
The Baytrix Fully Loaded
