Chamberland are an independent four-piece original earth rock outfit from Brisbane featuring Ross Dowling as lead vocalist and rhythm guitar, Scott Martin on drums, Shannon O'Leary on lead guitar and Doug Rout on bass.
As a permanent fixture in the Brisbane original live music scene for the best part of a decade, the band has established a strong and loyal following.
While their earlier work highlights a band still finding their own sense of self, Chamberland's latest EP release, Empty Sun, heralds a slightly new direction.
Working with renowned Brisbane producer Caleb James the latest work showcases a more mature Chamberland embracing their rock roots and delivering a dynamic recording that will define the band as one to watch in 2012.
With tones of social commentary portrayed on the EP in narrative style, Chamberland is a band willing to try something new to bring out a message of change and hope through brutal and honest rock.
Having played more gigs then they can count, it is through their live shows that Chamberland prefer to be known for. Always keen to deliver a knockout performance Chamberland are a band that leave everything on the stage, forging a reputation as a must see live act in the Brisbane music scene.

"Empty Sun" - CD Review - Scene Magazine
"Flowing from brutal, give-'em-hell rock track, such as 'Driving', to more relaxed, introspective numbers, the album takes the listener through a tormented, yet beautiful, musical landscape. Conjuring images of apocalyptic battlegrounds and the last vestiges of human existence."

"Empty Sun" - CD Review - Time Off
"Local group Chamberland produce the kind of grandiose, epic rock that makes for a killer live show. Their tunes are textured and ambitious, hitting hard with both a raw brute force and an endearing fragility." Daniel Wynne

Empty Sun CD Review – Rave Magazine
"The band's ability to hang between metal and grunge is brilliant, as is the way they have structured the album. Black Sabbath and Alice In Chains are the obvious influence, but both would most likely kill for the sound Chamberland have on Empty Sun."

"Empty Sun" - Feature article - Time Off
"Taking all the best elements from bottom heavy, passion-soaked bands like Alice In Chains, Queens Of The Stone Age and A Perfect Circle.it's an idea of epic grandiose." Benny Doyle

"Empty Sun" Feature article - Rave Magazine
"crushing guitar tones, soaring vocals and riffs that Ozzy Ozborne and Alice In Chains would fight for" Mitch Alexander

"Take Your Place" - Chamberland (Independent) - Scene Magazine Feature Album Review
"it's fair to say that it kicks like a steroid-munching mule. Chamberland's trick is to be informed by their classic influences but not dominated by them; so you have Sabbath and Deep Purple stripped down, rebuilt and hot-rodded for a new generation. It's exhilarating stuff, matching raw aggression to a striking precision" Matt Shea

Chamberland - Time Off (Live Review)
"combining smooth somewhat Cog-like verses with hard rock instrumentation, at times producing a raw and uncompromising racket that's reminiscent of Black Sabbath" Jonathon Howard
