Pianist, arranger, composer, and producer Cesar Camargo Mariano is one of Brazil's most celebrated and sought-after musicians.

In the early '60s, just as bossa nova was taking its baby steps toward enchanting the world, a teenaged Cesar became famous for his ability to swing and for his now-legendary left hand.

His ensembles of that era, notably Sambalanço Trio and Som Tres, are regarded as high points in Brazilian jazz; so is his 1981 album "Samambaia", one of his thirty-plus instrumental albums.

Cesar Camargo Mariano has been integral to the music of virtually every top name in Brazilian music including such legends as Gal Costa, Ivan Lins and Joao Bosco. His long time collaboration with singer Elis Regina includes the historic 1973 album "Elis & Tom", with Antonio Carlos Jobim, featuring Mariano as producer, arranger, pianist, and musical director.

Living in USA since 1994, Mariano also developed an international career of the highest caliber as soloist, composer, producer and arranger, collaborating with an array of giants from Classical to Jazz, from Pop to Electronic Music. Mariano was the recipient of the 2006 "Lifetime Achievement Latin Grammy Award", and 2007 "Latin Grammy Winner" for Best Brazilian Popular Music Album.

His compositions have been recorded by many artists worldwide such as Yo-YoMa, Ettore Stratta & The London Royal Philharmonic, Sadao Watanabe, Paquito D'Rivera, Milton Nascimento & Herbie Hancock.

Mariano has also composed a wealth of soundtrack music for film and TV.
