While watching his older brother and cousin write and record their own music, Zm became inspired and started rapping when he was 9 years old. Beginning as nothing more than a hobby, the past time that Z.M. grew to love so much started quickly forming into a career.

At first, Z.M. only wrote lyrics for songs but at the age of 11 he received his first computer based “beat machine” which encouraged him to begin composing entire records on his own. At the age of 12, Z.M. recorded his first real studio song. After his experience he decided to put together an album to sell in school and in the local area. After the great response from everyone, at the age of 14 Zm decided it was time to get serious.

Starting off heavy on the battle scene, Zm was the champion on 100.3 The Beats Faceoff in Philadelphia for 46 nights straight, eventually being retired. He was then brought back 2 months later winning an additional 10 nights and was then retired again as “The Face Off Legend”. Being dubbed a local legend, he was offered the chance to have his single “Riding Like Me” played during the prime time radio show in which the song was placed into regular rotation for 2 months. The biggest DJ in Philadelphia at the time, DJ JDS, not only spun his record but also hosted Z.M.’s Mix-tape starting a consistent wave of Mix-tapes later to follow.

Because of his success on the radio in Philadelphia, Z.M. was given the opportunity to meet Chris Lighty and have a preliminary meeting with James Cruz over at Violator Management in New York. Because of the meeting, Zm was then sent to Mtv2’s Fight Klub where he won every audition later gaining him a spot on the show battling Iron Solomon. Since then he has been a regular judge on Grind Time, an underground battle league on the rise, and has also had a music video placed on BET.com.

Zm is currently working on his debut album slated to release in 2009, as well as a college campus tour aimed strictly at the east coast. Z.M. has also started an indie label, Casdaluchi Records, in which he has 7 artists and 5 producers as well as web designers and a strong marketing and promotions staff. Z.M.’s main goal and focus is to not only enter the Hip-Hop industry but also make a mark and birth a legacy that will never be forgotten.
