The lovely, lilting voice of Boston-based singer/songwriter Carrie Cheron is an art-form all to itself. With a sound as warm and rich as velvet, this gifted songwriter and master song interpreter embodies a triumphant combination of uncommon wisdom and graceful melody. Often likened to folk superpower songstresses Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, Carrie’s lyric-based folk/pop, along with a stunning vocal prowess, has been heralded as “incredibly at home,” and “soulful,” and her recently released debut album, One More Autumn, is sure to secure a permanent place in your player.

Though she began her career in classical music, Ms. Cheron is creating a solid ground on which to stand in Boston's folk music scene. The young performer's song "Indiana" was recently featured on Bay State Sound's Best of Boston Songwriters, Showcase CD, Volume V, and her song "How I Loved" received an Honorable Mention from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. She was invited to compete in the 2006 NEMO Music Makers Competition, the Midwest Music Summit, and was a semi-finalist in the 2006 Great Waters Folk Festival songwriting contest.

Carrie has performed in some of the Boston area's most popular venues, including Club Passim, The Burren, Cantab Lounge, The Marblehead Festival of Arts, Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, Lowell Earth Day Festival, Midway Café, Zeitgeist Gallery, Kendall Café, All Asia Café, Abbey Lounge, and New England Conservatory's famed Jordan Hall. She has also graced the stage at Club Passim's Cutting Edge of the Campfire Festival, New York City's legendary Bitter End, Chicago's famed Uncommon Ground, Cleveland's Barking Spider Tavern, the 2006 Mountain Stage NewSong Festival, and the 2007 Great Waters Folk Festival.

Carrie has shared the stage with such artists as the Barra MacNeils, Northern Lights, Anais Mitchell, David Jacobs-Strain, Trina Hamlin, Colleen Sexton, and Erik Balkey, and was selected to perform at First Night Boston 2008.

Her CD, One More Autumn, was produced by Gar Ragland and features several of the folk community's most beloved and respected artists: Eric Platz (Adrienne Young & Little Sadie), percussion; Jake Armerding, fiddle and mandolin; Rushad Eggleston (Crooked Still), cello; Edie Carey background vocals.
