Lorraine Jordan-Mandolin/Vocal



Lorraine grew up around bluegrass music on the coast of North Carolina . She has performed bluegrass music for over twenty years. Lorraine plays Monroe style mandolin and is known for her hard driving mandolin chop. “Road Trip For The Lord” is the name of her solo gospel project. It has been on the gospel bluegrass charts for over a year now. “ Lorraine is a consummate performer, songwriter, emcee, and show organizer. ASCAP chose Lorraine as a finalist in the International Bluegrass Music Association songwriter showcase. She was the first runner up in the prestigious national song-writing contest at Meryl Fest. She was a finalist for female vocalist at SPBGMA in Nashville , Tennessee . Lorraine plays mandolin for The Daughters of Bluegrass who are signed by Blue Circle Records. The Daughters of Bluegrass won the IBMA Recorded Event of the Year award in 2006. As the band's emcee, Lorraine demonstrates an outgoing personality and charisma that draws audiences to the edge of their seats with every word and note. She is the inspiration behind the group being a finalist for Entertainers of the Year. She is the driving force behind Carolina Road 's popularity and longevity. Lorraine formed Carolina Road in 1998. In her spare time Lorraine enjoys riding her two Honda motorcycles and playing with her two Maltese J.D. and Polly. Lorraine was a featured artist in Bluegrass Now in the February 2007 issue.



Josh Goforth - Fiddle/Vocal



Josh was born in Asheville , North Carolina and is a Madison County native. Josh attended East Tennessee State University where he majored in Instrumental Music Education. He is very active in the world-renowned bluegrass and country music program at ETSU. He has played with Appalachian Trail , The ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band, and David Holt & Laura Boosinger. He has performed in nine foreign countries and basically every state in the eastern United States . In 2000 and 2003 he was named Fiddler of the Festival at the nationally acclaimed Fiddler's Grove Competition. He has won numerous awards and honors for his talent. Josh enjoys teaching folklore and sharing his talents with others.



Benny Greene - Banjo/Vocal



Ben started his music career in 1973 playing with the late Charlie Moore until 1979. He recorded on six albums from 1980 till 1994. Ben played electric guitar with country & dance bands. In 1995 he returned to Bluegrass playing electric bass with the Bluegrass Cardinals. In 1996 Ben went back to playing banjo for four years with Lost & Found. From 2000 until 2003 Ben played with Continental Divide and recorded on two CD's. For the next three years he played with James King and recorded on one CD. He has played in all but a couple states and in about seventeen countries. Ben was a nominee for SPGBMA & IBMA Banjo Player of the Year in 2006. He has a banjo instrumental project called Watson's Cove. He loves to fish with friends and family.



Jerry Butler-guitar/lead vocal



Jerry began playing music in the Knoxville, TN area when he was 12 years old. The Band was called The Knoxville Newgrass Boys that also included classmate Phil Leadbetter on dobro. He has also performed with Lynwood Lunsford and the Misty valley boys, The Joe Isaacs Band and many yrs with the Blue Valley Boys in Pigeon Forge, TN. Most recently with Pine Mountain Railroad, Jerry is featured on lead vocals on their single "Beyond the Rain" currently on the 2006 Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Surveyand recently voted Bluegrass gospel song of the Year by Singing News Front Porch Fellowship. Jerry has an Associate Music degree form Cumberland College , Lebanon , TN. Jerry maintains the myspace page for Carolina Road. Jerry also has a large collection of cowboy boots. Butler currently resides in Knoxville, TN with his wife and four daughters.



John Wade



John began playing music when he was 14. His first band experience was with Cumberland Grass, founded by his Dad and included his classmate Steve Dilling. John played on the country circuit for 5 years with artist Billy 'Crash' Craddock, as his band leader and bassist. John has played with Summer Wages, Stoney Runn, Stoney Ridge, The Grass Cats, New Vintage, Lou Ried & Carolina, The Lonesome River Band, The James King Band and has performed on stage with Tony Rice. John also played with Bruce Frye and The Lonely Riders and during this time appeared on the show, Matlock, where he got to meet his idol, Andy Griffith. He is the newest member of Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road. When John is not on the road he enjoys spending time with his friends and family. John makes his home in Cary, NC.
