Carlo Marrale musicista,fotografo e pittore, stato uno dei membri fondatori (autore, voce e chitarrista) dei Matia Bazar. Il gruppo, nato nel 1975, ha collezionato una serie di straordinari successi la maggior parte firmati musicalmente da Marrale, tra cui Stasera che sera, Per unora damore, Cavallo bianco ( 75), Che male fa (76), Solo tu (77, che arrivo', al numero uno nelle classifiche spagnole; e che rese il gruppo famoso in tutto il mondo), C'e' tutto un mondo intorno (79), Vacanze Romane (83, che fu un grandissimo successo europeo) e Ti sento (85). I Matia Bazar si esibirono in:Spagna,Francia,RegnoUnito,Svizzera,Belgio,Germania,Bulgaria,Cecoslovacchia,Russia,Polonia,Malta,Marocco,Siria,Libano,Giordania,Israele,Olanda,Svezia,Cile,Giappone,Canada;e parteciparono a parecchi festival, inclusi quelli prestigiosi di Vina del Mar (78, Solo tu), Eurofestival ( 79, Raggio di luna) e Festival di Sanremo per ben sette volte (Marrale vi partecip una volta anche in versione solista, nel 94, con il suo brano Lascensore, terza traccia del suo primo cd Tra le dita la vita).
Molti di questi successi vennero anche inclusi in colonne sonore di film e telefilm e tradotti in diverse lingue. Parecchi artisti hanno interpretato canzoni firmate da lui, tra questi MIGUEL BOSE' (Que no hai, 87), IRENE CARA ( I need you, versione inglese di Ti sento) inserita anche nell'album Back To Mine, dei PET SHOP BOYS, SUBSONICA (Per un ora d'amore Il video sono io) TIMORIA (c'e' tutto un mondo intorno) BANDA OSIRIS (Mr Mandarino) BLUEVERTIGO(ElettrochocFantasia) RITMOTRIBALE (Aristocratica)
e MINA (Che male fa, 92)Se Poi(.Sorelle Lumiere94)
Ma la sensibilita' di Marrale si riscontra anche nel genere lounge :la sua Indiana Cafe' entra a fare parte della raccolta Ying-Yang (02, per Corso Como 10, la galleria dI Carla Sozzani), che include artisti del calibro di SINGH, JOHN COLTRANE e FEEL GOOD PRODUCTION. Sua e' anche Take my breath away, pezzo dance arrivato al numero uno nelle classifiche giapponesi.
L'artista ha composto la canzone Odissea per il cd Duettoprodotto da STEVE WOOD (03) di SALVATORE LICITRA e MARCELO ALVAREZ, due tra i piu' grandi tenori delle scene internazionali, pubblicato in Italia e in tutto il mondo su etichetta Sony Classica. Il disco ha ottenuto un gran riscontro ed ha raggiunto il primo posto nelle charts U.S.A.

Carlo Marrale e' attualmente inpegnato nella promozione del suo CD " MELODYMAKER" in vendita nei negozi specializzati e su DEEJAY STORE, iTUNES dal 26 novembre 2007, e a questo fara' seguito un tour, durante il quale suonera' accompagnato da una band elettroacustica.

Carlo Marrale musician, photograper, and painter has been one of the founders and members of the successful pop Italian band Matia Bazar. Since the band was born in 1975, is started collecting an incredible series of hits in the Italian charts and worldwide successes mainly composed by Carlo himself.
Songs like STASERA CHE SERA(1975), PER UNORA DAMORE, SOLO TU (1978, which entered the Spanish charts at No.1 in the 70s), CHE MALE FA (1976) , CAVALLO BIANCO (1977), CETUTTO UN MONDO INTORNO (1979), TI SENTO (1985) all written by him, have also been included in movie soundtracks.
Matia Bazar have played in:Spain,UnitedKingdom,Swiss,Belgium,Germany,Bulgarian;Czechoslovakia,Russia,Poland,Malta,Morocco,Syria;Lebanon,Jordan,Holland,Sweden,Chile,Japan,Canada and took part to many festivals, including Vina Del Mar Festival (1978), Eurofestival (MOONSHINE, 1979) and the Sanremo Festival (where they appeared 7 times and where they won twice). Their live appearances all around the world (Europe, Middle-East, Japan, Russia, Latin-America) have always been a real triumph and their albums have been released in many languages. The song which brings a worldwide fame to the group is VACANZE ROMANE (ROMAN HOLIDAYS, 1983). Many artists performed songs written by Carlo Marrale. Among them Miguel Bose' (QUE NO HAI, 1987), Irene Cara (who sung I NEED YOU, english version of TI SENTO)
also included in Back To Mine by PET SHOP BOYS
and Mina (CHE MALE FA and SE POI,1992). Marrales charm can be spotted also in his lounge driven works. His track INDIAN CAFE' (2002) has been included in Carla Sozzani -the most famous Milanese design and photograpy gallery- compilation Yin-Yang, which features artists like Talving Singh, John Coltrane and Feel Good Production.
Marrale recently composed the pop /opera song ODISSEA(2003), that will be included in the forthcoming album by two of the most acclaimed tenors of the international scene Salvatore Licitra and Marcelo Alvarez on Sony Classical.produced by Steve Wood, The album will be released June 2003 in the US (end of May in Italy and September in the rest of the world). The two tenors will also celebrate the release of the album with an open-air spectacular concert in front of the magnificent Colosseum in Rome and in Central Park of New York Marrale has such a passion in composing and such a tast for indelible melodies, that is why his songs have an impressing international appeal.
