Please remember THIS PAGE WAS PUT HERE BY THE ORGAN TEAM - you are NOT talking direct to Cardiacs when you send in your messages, they know the page is here and they look at the comments and such but your mail comes in to the ORGAN ZINE / ORG RECORDS team.

Here at ORGAN MAGAZINE and ORG Records we've released a number of Cardiacs singles, compilation tracks and indeed the AFFECTIONATE FRIENDS cd album on our label, we've featured them in Organ zine many many times, as well as played tracks/videos as part of our radio and TV shows. We've lost count of how many times we've put Cardiacs gigs on over the 20 years of Organ life. Great big Cardiacs gigs, little tiny secret ones, Panixphere gigs, Sea Nymph gigs.

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL CARDIACS PAGE, RUMOUR HAS IT THAT CARDIACS AND ALPHABET ARE ABOUT TO PUT UP THEIR OWN OFFICIAL CARDIACS PAGE, WHEN THEY DO WE SHALL TELL YOU

This page is now called CARDIACS -THE ORGAN PAGE to avoid you thinking it's the offcial Cardiacs My Space page, I'm told that is coming.

A NOTE ON HOW THIS PAGE WORKS (21st JULY 2006)

This page was put here two or three years ago simply because someone needed to do it. It was mainly put here as an introduction for those who are curious and catching the word and want to know a little more about one of the finest underground bands out there. If you want to communicate with Cardiacs do it via their website. We are not responsible for the Cardiacs website or indeed anything else - if you need to talk to us about Organ things then please go to the Organ MySpace page. This page will just be hovering here, we'll check in and add friends, we'll pass on news announcements if and when we get them from Alphabet and we'll just leave this page as a gateway to Cardiacs and the Cardiacs website as well as the Cardiacs related things we do here at ORGAN

HERE'S THE BIOG FROM THE ORG RECORDS PAGE (2004)

CARDIACS - We're always lost for words when we have to try to write a description of Cardiacs. Every contradiction in the world comes into your head. They are utterly, totally unique - which in these days of post- post-ironic irony recycling and tiredness should be enough to make them part of your life. Yes, every band cliché is turned on its head with Cardiacs: don't bands get tired and repetitive after a few years - or at least sell out? Cardiacs are writing stuff that takes our breath away and breaks new ground 23 years after their first, home made single. They write tightly structured, often intricate tracks that make musicians worship them. A Cardiacs gig generates the wildest moshpits you'll ever see, mad sweaty people of a bewildering cross-section of ages and musical tastes bouncing up and down in time to twists and turns, wrecking to To Go Off And Things (a total thrash-out that happens to be in 7/8 time), pogoing to the delirious ska of In A City Lining, just plain dancing to irresistible tunes. that's Tim Smith's secret, you see - tunes. Tunes you have to sing along to, even though (if you took them apart) they weren't quite as normal as pop tunes should be. Cardiacs have been described as: fairground music; punk rock; prog rock; beautiful; frightening; deadly serious; total euphoria; ugly; sexy; avant-garde; pop genius; totally genuine; disturbing; uplifting. Let's cut this attempt short, let's just say that they really are all things to all people. Just remember that a ridiculous number of their fans loathed them on first hearing, then (by some mysterious process that we're still unable to fathom) suddenly had to run to a record shop five years later to buy all their albums.

Cardiacs have probably played more Organ shows than any other band (the gigs are always sold out) They run their own label - Alphabet - and have more than a dozen albums to their name. We have had the honour of releasing two singles on Org as well as featuring them on a number of compilation albums and best of all the "SONGS BY CARDIACS AND AFFECTIONATE FRIENDS" album - a beautiful album put together by Tim Smith and featuring the more restrained side of Cardiacs and various side projects from the Cardiacs family - MORE DETAILS HERE. Cardiacs are our fuel.
