DIGITAL SINGLE RELEASED MONDAY SEPTEMBER 8TH - FULL DETAILS AT WWW.CAMPACTOR.CO.UK

'Camp Actor ‘your obsession’ (press industries). Please will somebody put me out of my misery and tell me why oh why do I find myself constantly drawn back to this release time and time again. Is the thick and fat grooved bass underpins? Possibly. Or could it be the wiring cross generic electronic interfaces? Good call. Perhaps its the club floor trashing dynamics? Wouldn’t be surprised. Or maybe just maybe the small detail that including the original mix there are five contrasting edits featured here - ah well there you go that’s the bunny - puzzle solved. Camp Actor are a duo - Justin James and Marlowe - who it seems have been pleasuring the Shoreditch community - in a purely musical way you understand - with their monthly club nights wherein the attending are crowd have been known to be treated to first instances of Camp Actor song craft in the making. Three singles and an album already tucked firmly under their shared belt in the shape of ’warmer’ and a shed load of admiring acclaim from BBC DJ’s right through to next door’s cat and dog. Next up on the hilly ascent to stardom comes their fourth single ’your obsession’. As said five blinding mixes and more than enough to here to provide a one stop party with more than enough knee knocking toe tapping hip humping grind. The original mix opens the set to the sounds of duck quacks - or is that just me hallucinating big time after that its an unstoppable seizure inducing cavalcade of dubbed out dialects, reggae accents and stax motifs all deliciously thrown into a humungous melting pot of itchy bitchin’ floor filling delirium and smoked just about right with swathes of exotic vibes. The ’hrtz wise mix’ meters out a stompingly dirty dislocated futuro funk hybrid while ’Roxmaker’s Hot Sumer Mix’ is as you’d suspect from the tin description a sweatily hulking tranced out anthem lurking in the shadows. By the time ’Franky Boy’s Lento Violento Mix’ rears into view your synapses are already shot to pieces with the cuts coda lanced upon your psyche as though tattooed with a branding iron though surely you’ll find room to house FB’s tripped out salacious manoeuvres. Mind our favourite of the bunch though is the parting ’Volunteer Versus - lo fried mix’ a hot tropical psychotropic beast laced with dusty harmonicas, skinny tied kick arse hooks, rampant beats, interplanetary laser fights and a whole shed load of wig flipping easy action. Damn fine - expect serious damage at the local village dance-a-rama.' LOSING TODAY - Sept 08.
