Definitely representing, Camille is proud of her Moss Side roots and is hopeful that she can put her city on the map in a positive way as the place normally gets bad press. She says, Manchester is more than just United. There is an abundance of talent out there waiting to be discovered.
Camille's decision to move from Moss Side, Manchester, to the shiny lights of London, more specifically, east of the capital, where she hooked up with the Seismic Sounds collective, was more than just a dream and determination - it was fated! This prolific singer songwriter, who is presently studying Performing Arts at East London University, has now en-grained herself in the East London's cutting edge urban music scene.
From being rinsed on pirate radio, performing, writing, featuring and co-producing with some of East London's established and up and coming hot producers, shes definitely a young lady on a mission.
Urban/street/R&B/black music, whatever you want to call it, the kind of music Camille is involved with and makes, is again on the rise in the UK, and she wants to be at the forefront of this new musical revolution.
Some of her inspirations are Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Missy, but she is also happy for artists like Estelle and Ms Dynamite, Dizzie and Kano as it is these artists that are opening doors for Camille to showcase her God given talents and eventually share it with the world.
