More About Chris Marple
In September of 2004, Marple began the search for the perfect line up Contacting Bassist Marcus Goldsmith, and drummer Jason Proctor. The three formed a heavy alliance and material began move very quickly, auditioning many vocalist before connecting with Todd Tripton. Tripton was a perfect fit, climbing out of the hills of crestwood, with a vocal style like no other.
Caldera was finally complete and ready to dominate. Caldera began taking the local scene with charge, getting major recognition off they're single's "Deer Meat", & "She Screams Conspiracy". All the attention from the "Deer Meat" Single got Caldera the Headlining spot on the legendary LRSFEST at the waterfront in Louisville, in 2007. Getting to share the bill with Drowning Pool & Puddle Of Mudd In front over 8,000 in attendance. Caldera was known as the weekend warrior band, hitting the road every weekend playing in as many venues that would let them.
After a hard 4 years of touring and playing every where possible, Caldera parted ways with vocalist Todd Tripton due to "personal/creative differences". Marple, Goldsmith & Proctor continued to record all material in the works at Canyon Production's with engineer Chris Cassetta. As the band is recording and auditioning vocalist in the studio, Marple hears from vocalist David Bryant AKA "Sailor", Formally of My Own Victim & Surviving Thalia. "Bryant came out and slayed the audition" says Marple. The Band finally had there new front man after a neck breaking 6 month search. Bryant joins forces with the Caldera crew and release's there first single "Crawl". Booking a welcome back show, Caldera sets up a gig to debut with Bryant on vocals, with Friends "Primer 55". Unfortunately, after a few months of gigging, Caldera decides to let the name lay to rest, and changes they're name to "Kentucky Death Wish". During this time of change Bryant had decided to pursue his former band "Surviving Thalia", putting Marple and crew back on the dreaded vocalist hunt. This time things seem to fall together much quicker for the KDW crew. In Spring of 2009, KDW Picked up drummer Jason Proctor's brother on vocals, "Todd Proctor". KDW immediately schedules a welcome back show opening up For Shadows Fall, Five Finger Death Punch and Otep. While getting ready to start they're studio session, KDW Get's offered a spot on the Soulfly/Prong Show in Lousiville, KY. Unfortunately, This was to be the bands last show due to personal/creative differences between members.
