Solo artist CABARET RAT is from Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK.
Growing up in the NW, close to a seaside resort dedicated to cheap entertainment, stag nights/fights and junk food, he developed a passion for pop culture, tacky
one-night stands, alcohol, alt-rock clubs, punk and comic-books. Combining these cultural / messy moments and ideologies with musical influences derived from New-Wave, Electro, Industrial, Garage Punk, and Pop, it's big, brash, and occasionally disturbing. It's music perfectly suited to modern life.
He has recorded and self-released three releases to date. 'INFECTED MILK' in 2006, includes 'Surf Monkey', and 'Let's Watch Porn', a true story about a first date that was going oh so well…
'SCARING LITTLE ALBERT', his second 10-track album soon followed in 2007, with tracks including his satirical swipe at the gun-crazy culture of the US, 'Cattle-Ranch', and the pseudo-jingoistic CabRat 'theme', 'The Rats Of War'.
The 2010 6-track EP 'WALKING WITH SHARKS', includes 'Slice 'n' Dice', a bile-soaked rant at vanity surgery addicts disguised as catchy pop, and 'Next To You Forever', the sound of love contracting ebola.
